I spent last weekend with my apprentices. We experimented with planting oatstraw late in the season. I am thinking it will sprout and grow quickly in our summer heat. I will let you know how it goes.
We did some communing with lavender and made lavender infused oil and lavender salve. The energy of lavender connected us with contentment.
That was a good way to begin our weekend. On Sunday, as we passed the talking stick, it became quite apparent that there is an enormous amount of grief that is present in our world right now--we shared about the fires on Maui and the devastation of the forest, the trees.
A few years ago when I was out on the land to connect with earth energy, I was given the notion that Earth, herself, is an elemental.
When I journeyed to gather more wisdom about this before our apprentice day, I was told---the earth is not dying, she is not suffering, she is adapting. I was also told that the trees have great wisdom about this.
We did some shamanic listening with the trees and I received some wisdom that what is needed is healing the soul of humanity. It was my crooked hazel who offered this to me.
I will be continuing to journey about this. I feel nourished by this wisdom because instead of hopelessness and depair, there is a way to bring healing to what seems so deparate.
What I will leave you with is that nature, the plants, the trees have wisdom beyond what our human minds can comprehend. The way is very simple and shows us the path to a possible future.
May it be in Beauty.
Peace and Abundant Green Blessings, Julie
