June is here, which means pool season has arrived! Fallon Park Pool opened on May 30, and Washington Park Pool will open for the season this Saturday, June 6.

Both pools will be open six days a week. You can find the weekly schedule, hours of operation, admission details, safety guidelines and more on our blog!

We are so excited to share that renovation of the Eureka Recreation Center has been completed! Join us for a ribbon cutting on Friday, June 12 at 11:00 AM. You’re invited to tour the facility and updated park grounds after the ceremony. The building will be open to the public until 1:00 PM on June 12 and the official opening day is Monday, June 15. More information on the facility, including photos, amenities, and open hours can be found at the link below.

Whether you're in it for the nostalgia of your childhood, or for maximum competition, evening kickball games are a top-tier summer activity.

Registration is open now for our Adult Kickball League, with games beginning June 29. Sign up for the lower league, with games on Tuesday and Thursdays or the more competitive upper league, with games on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Summer is busy, and our weeklong outdoor adventure summer camps are already full, but if your kids would enjoy a single day of adventure, we've got you covered! Adventure Play Days are a lot like our summer camp program, but instead of a week, they're just one-day! The adventures are for kids ages 8 to 12 – no parents allowed! Sign them up to go hiking, paddling, or caving with our awesome summer camp staff.

Throughout this summer, construction work on the In-River Park will be taking place at Wasena Park. The take-out at this location is temporarily moving upstream to avoid the work zone. We've put out a video series to help you plan ahead if you're visiting the Roanoke River this summer, plus recommendations on alternative access points (including 2 brand-new ones)! View the first video below, and be sure to check out the full series and additional resources on our blog, here.

More In-River project details can be found on the project page here.
