Statewide Release

July - September Professional Learning Opportunities

Below you will find a list of upcoming courses that are now available for enrollment in the PD Portal. For more information about any of these courses, please visit the PD Portal, open the course catalog, and review the syllabus. If you are interested in enrolling in a course, please consult with your in-house professional development specialist (IHPDS) to determine if the course meets your professional learning goals.

New Course: Improving Your Agency's Data Quality and Processes

A new course is now available to support agencies' work to improve their data quality. Agency teams will work through the training together and should include an agency leader who can enact change at the agency (such as the administrator, an assistant director, or a coordinator) and one person who is familiar with all aspects of the agency’s data entry process (such as the data quality specialist). Other agency staff can also choose to participate.

During the course, participants will create a map of their agency’s data inputs and outputs, learn information that will inform their analysis of the input and output processes, and identify areas for improvement. Participants will then develop an action plan where they identify at least two changes that will improve their agency’s data quality and meet with a coach to discuss any support they need to implement their plan.

The Improving Your Agency's Data Quality and Processes course is available on demand, and participants will have 60 days from their enrollment date to complete all activities. Enroll in the PD Portal catalog and contact Michael McCarty mdm151@psu.edu with any questions.
