-The Latest News

My Soul is Dry—A Lenten Exploration | The Book of Psalms (or The Psalter) is the book most quoted in the New Testament, and is rooted deeply in Christian prayer, worship and song.

This Lent, we will explore seven particularly meaningful and important psalms (6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130), traditionally known as the Seven Penitentials. These psalms are examples of sorrow for sin, repentance and desire for amendment and restoration— they are particularly fit for dry seasons in life!

We will pray, sing and ponder these psalms at Noon and 7 PM Wednesdays during Lent (March 12th, 19th, 26th, April 2nd and 9th), confident that God will pour grace into the parched places of our lives. Simple Suppers will be held beforehand. Sign up to serve.

Lenten Devotions | As we journey through Lent, we invite you into reflection with Servant of the Lord, a Lutheran Hour Ministries devotional. In Jesus Christ, God enters our human condition as both Son and Redeemer, revealing the Heavenly Father to us through His life, death, and resurrection. As the ultimate example of devoted service, Jesus’ teachings guide us to live lives of love, peace, and praise to God. He came as God’s chosen Servant, sent to be our King, Savior, and trusted Friend. Click here to download the devotional. Printed copies are also available in the Narthex.

Shrove Tuesday Recap | Grace Lutheran "let the good times roll" as we celebrated Shrove Tuesday with pancakes, sausages, and friends galore!

Following the festivities we gathered in the courtyard to burn palms for Ash Wednesday and sing farewell to "Alleluias." A very special thank you to everyone who made it happen. Click here to view photos from the event and be sure to follow us on Facebook!

Equipment Updates |

  • There is a new copier in the office. The lease on the previous one expired. Please check with Kim or Emily if you need help making copies.
  • A new phone system will be put into effect tomorrow (March 7th). This includes new phones throughout the building. Switching providers (from Nextiva) will result in a substantial cost savings. Overall, the system brings improved features (quality of calls, announcements, etc.) and accessible and attentive customer service.

Spring Church Clean-Up | Saturday, March 15th It's time to prune back shrubs and perennials, transplant liriope, clean fellowship hall windows, paint GH Parking lot car bumpers, tidy the parking lot, etc. For more information and suggestions, please reach out to Kathy Peterson at resource@gracelutheranchurch.net or (919)641-8267. Time: 9-11:30 AM

As we approach the meaningful seasons of Lent and Easter, we’re thrilled to invite you to come together and sing to the Lord a new song! We have an array of anthems lined up, and what better way to enhance our skills than by dedicating a few hours to practice together?

March 29th from 10 AM to 2 PM

We’ll be serving a delightful lunch to keep our spirits high and our energy up,
