Greetings!

The 4th Sunday of Easter, Good Shepherd Sunday, reminds us that Jesus is the Shepherd who knows us, guides us, and lays down His life for us. His voice calls us

into a deeper relationship, one shaped by trust, prayer, and daily faithfulness.

Jesus, the Good Shepherd, invites us to spend time with Him in prayer, Scripture, the Mass, and the sacraments so we can recognize His voice amid the noise of life.

When we listen, we learn to make choices that reflect His love and His will.

Peter’s words in Acts echo this call: turn away from sin, embrace repentance, and begin anew in Christ. His letter urges us to follow Jesus’ example of patient endurance, especially in moments of undeserved suffering. Instead of blaming or holding onto anger, we are invited to let God lead us with gentleness and strength.

The readings remind us that Christ’s sacrifice brings us into a new life, dying to sin

and living for righteousness. And the conversion of so many in Acts shows the transforming power of the Gospel when hearts are open.

Good Shepherd Sunday invites us to listen, to follow, and to trust. His voice leads

us to healing, renewal, and the fullness of life He longs to give.

Livestream the Mass on Sunday at 11:00am on our Facebook page.

Parish News & Events:

What does it mean to be a Stewardship Parish?

The Four Pillars of Stewardship

Hospitality - Christian Kindness

'When I was a stranger, you welcomed me.' Matthew 25:35

Jesus Christ teaches that whenever we welcome one of the least of our sisters and brothers, we welcome Christ Himself. Parishioners of a stewardship parish

see the face of Christ in one another. A stewardship parish is a welcoming parish regardless of the parish demographics: large or small - urban, suburban, or rural.

Prayer - A Heart to Heart with God

'Prayer is as necessary to our souls as food is to our bodies.' from Characteristics of a Christian Steward.

Prayer and the sacraments dispose a soul to receive God's abundant graces,

which are necessary to grow in holiness. It is through prayer that we

nurture our personal relationship with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Formation - Continuous Conversion

'Being a disciple is not just something else to do, alongside many other things

suitable for Christians, it is a total way of life and requires continuing conversion.'

from USCCB's Stewardship a Disciple's Response - Pastoral Letter on Stewardship

Formation is a formidable task, involving education for the mind and conversion of the heart. To know the "stewardship way of life", does not make one live a "stewardship way of life." Ongoing Catholic education is important if we are to grow in our lives as stewards.

Service - Love in Action

'...Amen I say to you, whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me.' Matthew 25:40

Members of a stewardship parish are ready to minister to the varied needs of their own parish family as well as the needs of the wider community and Church.

Just as the members of a family come together to help one of their own,

a stewardship parish family serves those who are hurting or in need, doubting or seeking salvation. The parish family also comes together to celebrate, thank, and return God's gifts.

Resurrected Lord Treat

Betsy Taylor prepared a thoughtful gift for those who joined our family over Easter. Her idea for the Resurrected Lord Treats was creative, inspiring, and delicious. Everyone enjoyed them!

Ministry Information:

You’re invited to make a difference!

You, your family, and friends are invited to volunteer with RCP’s Ministry as we come together to help build Peace and Justice in our community. On National Rebuild Day, Saturday, April 25, 2026, our Resurrection team (now in its 14th year!) will spend a whole or half day helping a senior homeowner safely age in place.

This year, we’ll be working together to help our homeowner clean up his yard while building community and connection along the way. There will be a variety of tasks available, so you can choose a role that fits your strengths, abilities, and interests.

Transportation assistance is available if you need a ride.

To learn more about the nonprofit agency Rebuilding Together Pacific Northwest (RTPNW)—formerly Rebuilding Together Portland and Rebuilding Together Washington County—and its year‑round programs supporting qualified residents, visit https://www.rtpnw.org/.

We hope you’ll join us for a meaningful and rewarding day of service!

Thank you for supporting our St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) ministry and for your generous donations. A SVdP truck, from the Thrift Story, will be in the church parking lot before and after all Masses on May 2nd and 3rd. Now is your chance to donate unneeded household items such as clothes, books, lamps, and almost anything and receive a charitable deduction!

Have something you’d like to donate but can’t bring it in yourself (sofa, table, chair)? Please stop and speak with our SVDP volunteers on site, they’ll be glad to help and can share simple instructions for arranging a home pickup.

For everyone’s safety and because of storage limitations, we’re not able to accept:

·        Infant/baby items (cribs, toys, etc.)

·        Mattresses or box springs

·        Large appliances (washers, freezers)

Thank you again for your generosity and for helping us serve our neighbors in need.

Parishioner Milestones & Highlights:

Send us your birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, births and other notable events to be recognized.

Opportunities to Contribute:

QCD

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

RMD

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.

Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.

Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.

Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.

Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning

Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church, school, or school endowment fund can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.

We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting

Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School

with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.
