Today is our 10th Anniversary!
Dr. Robert Record, a "transplant" to Birmingham, and Dr. John Fischer, a "local", both loved Birmingham and were excited to help eliminate the healthcare gap that exists in our community. What started off with two medical residents and a dream became a reality in March 2009 when we opened our first Christ Health clinic in Woodlawn.

With the generous love, prayer, and support of many partners over the last 10 years Christ Health has touched over 20,000 patient's lives and grown from 4 employees with 900 appointments each year, to 120 employees and family medicine residents with over 50,000 medical, dental, and case management appointments every year!

It is a privilege to be a part of this impactful work and we cannot thank you enough for the countless prayers, volunteers hours, and financial support you have given to make this tremendous impact possible.

New Behavioral Health Center Opening on April 1st
In August 2018, Christ Health began construction on a Behavioral Health building. In what feels like nothing short of a miracle, this new building will open in less than 2 weeks!

Over its 10 years of service, Christ Health has witnessed an immense need for mental heath services.  In 2018 alone, we made 8,425 mental health diagnoses among our 15,166 patients.

A large majority of our patients are exposed early and often in their lives to poverty-related trauma like violence, homelessness, and substance abuse.

Repeated exposure to trauma means many of our friends battle mental health issues on a more frequent basis and must overcome barriers that most of us take for granted--like finding reliable transportation to and from appointments, or choosing between buying medication or groceries.

The new Behavioral Health building is about creating a healthier, safer, and more sustainable community for EVERYONE through excellent, holistic, and affordable mental health care.

The new clinic will provide 8,650 new mental health appointments centered around our holistic model of care each year, and it will provide a safe place where we pray many will find true healing and renewed hope.

Meet The New Residents
Through our partnership with the St. Vincent's Health System, Christ Health trains and empowers physicians to deliver the highest quality clinical care and to use medicine to share the love of God.

As part of the Multiply Campaign, we are growing this work from 5 to 8 new residents per year!

We are excited to welcome the 2019 cohort of medical residents to train and serve at our Chalkville clinic for 3 years starting this July!
