Once a humble one-room schoolhouse, Mulmur Township School Section 2, it's now the elegant Mrs. Mitchell's Restaurant, a testament to both the past and the present, and now, a testament to 45 years of dedicated service.
The restaurant, named for the school's last teacher, who closed its doors in 1968, exudes an old-world charm. Timeless wood, exposed brick, and a warm, inviting atmosphere replace the chalkboards and desks of yesteryear. Today, elegantly dressed tables welcome patrons seeking a refined yet comfortable dining experience, all while celebrating a significant milestone .

From Backyard Trails to the Camino: 11-Year-Old Henry the Hiker Takes on a 800km Journey Across Spain
For most 11-year-olds, adventure might mean mastering a tricky level in a video game or counting down the days to a weekend playdate. But for Henry—better known as “Henry the Hiker”—adventure looks a little different. This spring, it means trekking 800 kilometers across an entire country.
Henry and his mom, Carola, have set out on the Camino Frances, a historic pilgrimage route stretching from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France all the way to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. It’s a bold goal for anyone, let alone a pre-teen. But for Henry, it’s a natural next step in a hiking journey that began right in his own backyard.

Seed Swap and Tree Pick up
Swap seeds, share gardening tips, and connect with fellow growers in the community.
Location: Township of Mulmur
Dates & Times:
May 2 – 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
May 3 – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Bring your extra seeds— vegetables, flowers, herbs, or heirloom varieties—and trade them for something new to grow this season! Please make sure your seeds are labeled with the plant name and any helpful growing information. They should be in an envelope or a sealed, airtight container to keep them fresh and protected.
Dufferin Compost will be there on May 2, providing free high-quality compost to give your garden a great start!
Want to donate seeds? If you’d like to contribute but can’t attend, please drop off your seeds at the Township Office by April 28.
