Welcome New Stars Coaches!

We are pleased to announce the addition of several new coaches to our coaching staff for the 2026-2027 season! Please join us in welcoming Joel Hachem and Samantha Zerilli to the Michigan Stars Oakland family.

Joel joins the staff from the Stars Developmental Academy (SDA). He grew up in Nouakchott, Mauritania, where he played professional soccer for four years before moving to France to play for two years with the Bordeaux B team. Since 2017, Joel has coached college soccer in Flint, MI, where he coached both the men’s and women’s programs. Joel holds a USSF National D License.

Samantha also joins the coaching staff from SDA. A lifelong soccer player, Samantha competed collegiately at Ferris State and Schoolcraft College before finishing her last two years at Texas A&M International. Samantha holds a U.S. Soccer Grassroots License and is currently working towards her D License.

Stars Represent Michigan ODP

Stars Oakland was well represented at the 2026 ODP Midwest Sub-Regional Tournament in St. Louis last weekend! Five players from our 2015 Boys Pre-MLS NEXT team competed with Michigan ODP, showcasing their talent against top regional competition.

We’re proud to see these players earning opportunities to compete at a high level and represent both Michigan ODP and Michigan Stars Oakland. Keep up the great work!

Summer Training Programs

Many of our athletes will be taking advantage of our summer programming through Summer Elite Training (SET) and the Summer Champions Cup (SCC). These programs are designed to keep players’ skills sharp throughout the off-season while providing continued development opportunities under the guidance of our licensed travel coaches. Through consistent training, competition, and skill-building, athletes will be well-prepared for the upcoming season.
