Notes From The President

Summary of VM III's February 26, 2024 Board Meeting

VM V President’s Insights

Judy Rosenthal, President of VM V, provided valuable insights regarding the board’s operations and functions.

HOA Forms

I’d like to share an update regarding our efforts to shorten and simplify VM III's forms. According to Lynn Helferich, the work is nearly complete, and we look forward to finalizing the process soon.

Occupancy Concerns Discussion

Many residents have raised concerns regarding the occupancy rules, specifically questioning what is currently allowed and what should be permitted in the future. These inquiries highlight the need for clarity and consistency in our community guidelines.  The application of occupancy rules shows inconsistency from street to street.  Rancho Vista residents seem to be subject to stricter enforcement measures.

The board will consider input from the following sources and, in turn, will publish a proposal.

●    Monroe/Fleming occupancy research (published October 2023)

●    Insights from Michelle Bussiere’s ‘Occupancy Consensus’ discussion (annual meeting)

Additional Agenda Items

Due to the lively occupancy discussion, the following agenda items were not covered.

●    Volunteer inquiries

●    USPS mail-related matters

●    9-month residency for board members

●    Board & committee communications flow

VM III Email Support

How do we communicate? For VM III's board, it's pretty simple. We send a blast. Or we put out a notice on the sandwich boards.

But if you, a resident, have a question, how can you effectively reach out to the board? One option is to attend a board meeting and pose your question as part of the Homeowner's Forum. If that doesn't work, however, email is an option that is always available and allows your questions to be addressed in a timely manner.

To facilitate reaching the appropriate person and receiving a quick response, each board member/officer has been given their own unique email address. As board members change, these addresses will be moved from the outgoing director to the incoming director so that it won't be necessary that you acquire the new director's personal email address in order to reach them.

Following are those addresses. It is recommended that you add them to your electronic contact list to eliminate the possible chance of responses being directed to your 'spam' folder.
