Creating Homes, Changing Lives

The work of building affordable housing is a cycle of collaboration, hope, and action. In June we proudly opened the doors to Zion Woods in Deerfield. With over 120 applicants for 25 apartment homes, the need is undeniable. As the new residents of Zion Woods begin their next chapter, we are already in the midst of our next project with construction underway at Poupard Place in Northbrook. Together, these new developments are creating a future where everyone has a place to thrive.

Zion Woods Celebrates Grand Opening

On June 26th, more than 100 people gathered in Deerfield to celebrate a powerful milestone: the grand opening of Zion Woods Apartments, a new affordable housing community that is already changing lives.

Among the crowd were new residents, neighbors, community leaders, and partners who helped make this vision a reality. This new development is a testament to what can happen when compassion and collaboration come together.

"If You Don't Have Safe Housing, Nothing Else Matters."

Jenny, a new Zion Woods resident, welcomed the crowd to her new home with heartfelt words that captured the spirit of the day. Jenny’s remarks were a reminder of what was truly being celebrated: 25 safe and affordable homes are now available for individuals living with a disability and local families.

More than 70 neighbors, leaders, and partners gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of Northbrook’s first affordable and supportive housing development, Poupard Place. This 48-unit community will offer safe, stable homes for individuals and families where at least one member lives with a disability.

The event was filled with hope and shared purpose, as speakers reflected on the power of inclusion and what it means to build a more welcoming future.

HomeComing Welcomes Zion Woods Residents

In July, neighbors and local organizations welcomed Zion Woods residents to the community. Residents were able to register to vote, sign up for a library card, open up a banking account, learn about options for health care, sign up for a caption phone, and more.
