Neighborhood Notes

October 2026

Upcoming and Ongoing

We are encouraging the young artists in your life to participate in the NYC Office of the Prevention of Hate Crimes' annual citywide art contest,

HeARTwork Against Hate - it's a great way to get the conversation started with youth about making everyone feel safe, preventing and standing against hate, and helping to build more connected communities.

Help spread the word!

Please share this opportunity with your children, students, teachers, and schools.

Let's get a winner from Crown Heights!

What We’ve Been Up To

We had a great Sukkot party with the Prospect Park Alliance!

We thank them for inviting the community to celebrate the holiday on their grounds. Cultural efforts like this really made people feel like the park is Brooklyn's backyard.

Did you see the huts in the neighborhood but didn't know what it's all about? Learn about what the holiday of Sukkot is HERE

Office of the Prevention of Hate Crimes Stakeholders Meeting

OCH joined the September Office of the Prevention of Hate Crimes' Stakeholders Meeting. It was great to gather to share ideas and resources with other groups around the city who are also working on making it safe for every marginalized and minority community across the city.

Festival Flashback

From our members:

At the end of all of our gatherings, we ask -
