The Magic Of Ordinary Days

Every dream that is realized was achieved through the repetition of successful habits on many ordinary days. Olympic athletes train day in and day out for years for that one race to win Olympic gold. People who lose 100 lbs work consistently for weeks, months and maybe even years to finally be at their goal weight, and so the same is true of achievement in anything great: a happy marriage, a successful business, a personal best in a sport.

We all love the exhilaration of extraordinary days when time and chance come together, and we finally get to live the dream we’ve been dreaming. It’s also easy to be envious of someone who is standing on the mountain top and wish for what they have, but when you’re looking at the fulfillment of the dream, you’re not seeing all that it took to get there. Every dream that is realized came at a price to the dreamer. Sacrifices were made. Priorities were rearranged. The heart and soul of achievement is a
dreamer with clear intention who makes no excuses.
Successful people have successful habits. That doesn’t mean they were born with successful habits though. Habits are developed through daily discipline and consistency when the dreamer makes no excuses. Trying, failing, learning and trying again is the only cycle that leads to success. Every achiever must fail on the way to the victory. The reason most people won’t ever stand on their highest mountain top is because they aren’t willing to fail, or they aren’t willing to learn from failure and to get back up
and try again. But for those who are determined no matter the price, who develop the discipline to stay focused and committed on the ordinary days, there will be extraordinary days because they did not give up.
Thus, it really is the ordinary days on the way to achieving the extraordinary days that should be celebrated. It’s the daily discipline that adds up. You can’t bypass the ordinary to get to the extraordinary. There are no short-cuts. Truly then, the magic to success is in what you do on the ordinary days.

SECOND MEETING UPDATE:
Second Meeting Update: We hosted our second meeting on Wednesday, May 8 th . Only 1 out of the 20 members was in attendance. Per the first meeting where members agreed that if less than 5 people were in attendance, we would not host a meeting, this meeting was cancelled. I am not disappointed as I highly suspected this would be the case. Frankly, I was surprised when members said they wanted monthly meetings. I am determined to create a club where people can share, learn, be held accountable and grow. At this time, the Daly Dream Team Club will be on hold while I develop a format to meet these objectives.
