SOTC '26: Highlighting a Year of Progress

On Thursday, July 30, the City of Moreno Valley hosted hundreds of local and regional guests and dignitaries at our annual State of the City Address held at the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center Ballroom.

During the event, Mayor Cabrera and members of the City Council discussed the many successes, advancements, and innovations over the last 12 months and presented a unified, exciting vision for the City's future.

The event would not have been possible without the incredible support and generosity of our Event Sponsors, which include the following:

EXCLUSIVE: Moreno Valley Doubles Down on Two New City Park Playgrounds

Moreno Valley's Parks & Community Services Department held two separate ribbon-cutting ceremonies to celebrate the opening of two beautiful new City park playgrounds.

Pedrorena Park, which opened on July 8, 2026, is a 5.50-acre playground that was designed with families in mind. The space features modern play equipment for children, barbeques, multi-use athletic fields, picnic tables, security lighting, picnic shelters, and other amenities that make it comfortable and welcoming for everyone. The park is located at 16009 Rancho Del Lago.

Vista Lomas Park, located at 26700 Iris Avenue, officially opened on July 22, 2026. This BIG and beautiful playground is designed to inspire active play, outdoor fun, and meaningful moments where neighbors connect, and children can simply enjoy being kids.

EXCLUSIVA: Moreno Valley inaugura dos nuevos parques de la ciudad

El Departamento de Parques y Servicios Comunitarios de Moreno Valley llevo a cabo dos ceremonias de inauguración para celebrar la apertura de dos nuevas y hermosas zonas de juegos en parques de la ciudad.

El parque Pedrorena, inaugurado el 8 de julio de 2026, cuenta con un área de juegos de 5.50 acres diseñada pensando en las familias. El espacio ofrece modernos equipos de juego para niños, parrillas, campos deportivos de uso múltiple, mesas de picnic, iluminación de seguridad, áreas techadas para picnic y otras comodidades que lo hacen un lugar cómodo y acogedor para todos. El parque está ubicado en 16009 Rancho del Lago.

El parque Vista Lomas, ubicado en 26700 Iris Avenue, abrió oficialmente sus puertas el 22 de julio de 2026. Esta amplia y hermosa área de juegos está diseñada para fomentar el juego activo, la diversión al aire libre y momentos significativos donde los vecinos pueden conectar y los niños simplemente disfrutar de ser niños.

From August 1 through 15, Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is participating in the nationwide Clear the Shelters campaign, offering FREE pet adoptions for qualifying dogs and cats. Whether you're looking for a playful puppy, a loyal companion, or a cuddly cat, your new best friend may be waiting at the shelter.

The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Stop by, meet the adoptable pets, and give a deserving animal the loving home they deserve.

MoVal Movies Gets One More Curtain Call

The magic of outdoor movies in Moreno Valley comes to a close tonight, August 7, with the summer's final MoVal Movies' screening at the Civic Center Amphitheater,

This evening we will feature the movie Shrek starting at 7:00 p.m. (the end time depends on the movie's length).

Bring a blanket or lawn chair, and please remember to cover/secure your items.

Our Pet of the Week is Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a 12-year-old brown and black male German Shepherd.

Leroy is a distinguished gentleman with a youthful spirit and playful demeanor. A mature dog sporting the heart of a puppy, he's looking for a loving family to take him on walks, cuddle on the couch, or play catch in the backyard.
