RANGER CHECKPOINT

July 2025

A Message from the Chairman

Rangers -

Everyone of you volunteered at least twice; first to join our Army and second to attend the Ranger Course; some of you more! Thank you for your service to our nation and our community.

Last month your Ranger Memorial Foundation Board welcomed our newest board member to the team, CSM (Retired) Tom Siter. No stranger to Fort Benning or the community, we are proud to have him and his expertise on board helping us guide the foundation into the future.

Last month we also had the privilege of awarding scholarships totaling $50,000 to sixty-six deserving Rangers and their family members. Thank you to all those donors who make it possible for us to do this every year.

As we look forward to the future, during the week of 17-21 November, we are proud to announce that in partnership with the National Infantry Association, we are hosting the 55th and final Sontay Raider Reunion. A special event to honor the legacy of the Sontay Raiders and commemorate one of the very special events in our shared history.

This reunion also recognizes the contributions of MACV-SOG, MIKE Force, Operation Tailwind, the Battle of Lang Vei, POWs, the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War’s end, and celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Army’s founding.

We look forward to seeing you there as we celebrate these heroes’ accomplishments.

Thank you to everyone who participated — your support makes a real difference. Just yesterday, the National Ranger Memorial Foundation awarded $50,000 in college scholarships to 66 Rangers and their family members nationwide. Your generosity helps make that possible.

A special thank you to Alan’s Armory in Cataula, GA for assisting with the firearm transfer, and to our valued sponsor, Colt, for their continued support.
