As followers of Christ, we Seek others in our community, Serve their needs, Grow in the love of Christ, and Connect with each other

Pastors' Points: Towards the end of Jesus' life, the Pharisees were actively plotting to find a reason to have him killed. Our text this Sunday focuses on one of the more ... controversial questions the Pharisees asked Jesus.

The question of paying taxes.

They were hoping that Jesus would respond in a way that would make Rome angry OR in a way that would make the Jewish people angry. He does neither, but rather leaves us with a statement that confounded the Pharisees then and still confounds us today.

"Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's."

The question we will explore on Sunday is "What is God's?" Jesus doesn't explain, and that's on purpose.

Are we giving God what is truly God's? Or do we give Caesar what is rightfully God's?

Looking forward to sharing and seeing you on Sunday!

UWF Green Team Tip of the Week: “Faith in Action”

Food is a necessity and has gotten very expensive. Growing food can also affect our environment, and preventing food waste can save us money and reduce pollution. Here are five ways to keep from wasting food.

1. Plan ahead before buying groceries. This helps you avoid buying things you don’t need.

2. Store your food properly.

3. Use your freezer to extend shelf life and to save cooked food.

4. Read “Best by” labels to be sure that food is still good to eat. Also use your senses.

5. Plan a day each week or so to serve a smorgasbord of leftovers. You can use up food that is left over, and you won’t have to cook that day.
