Town News & Updates

Charlestown Post Office

The Town has regular communication with the United States Post Office, given the fact we're in the design phase of constructing an addition onto the Town Hall building. Our contact on the USPS leasing team has confirmed our lease will automatically renew in May. Either the Town or the USPS would need to provide 60 days notice to terminate the lease, and that didn't happen.

The Town would very much like for the Post Office to stay, as it's an important part of our community identity in the center of Town. Although we have no control over the budgets of the USPS, the fact remains that we want them to stay and have demonstrated that commitment, by including them in the designs for the new Town Hall.

We are excited to announce that we're currently seeking talented performers and vendors for our upcoming Music in the Park Concert Series, which will be held at Avalon Park this Spring and Summer.

Our concerts have always been a huge hit with our residents, drawing large crowds and creating a lively, festive atmosphere. We're looking for musicians who can help us continue this tradition of quality entertainment that our community has come to love. We're also looking for food trucks and vendors.

If you're interested, please don't hesitate to contact us at Town Hall by sending an email to staff@charlestownmd.org. Be sure to include your information, including details about your music or food/products and your availability.

We can't wait to hear from you and see what you have to offer!
