Note from the Pastor:

In 2000, a movie hit the movie theaters that challenged all of humanity. The movie, "Pay it Forward, was about a young boy who accepted haphazard challenge presented by his middle school teacher and pursued it wholeheartedly. The teacher, who challenged his students to enact a plan to change the world, was expecting simple gestures like picking up trash and doing small community service projects. However, Trevor, had something bigger in mind: he was going to change the world two people at a time. His plan was to do something big, and life changing for two people and ask those to people to do something big and life changing for two other people, creating an infinite line of people "paying it forward" with good deeds. We could do something quite similar to those in our communities. If we each select two people to lead to Christ and disciple and then challenge them to lead two others to Christ and disciple them, we can multiply the people who follow Christ exponentially.

Pizza, Prayer, and Pondering

Pizza, Prayer, and Pondering has moved to second Sundays for the foreseeable future. We are having some really good and very deep theological discussions. Please join us for our next gathering on Sunday, October 11 at 5:30pm with an appetite for food and a better understanding of the Bible. Here's what you need to do prior to that Sunday:

Study your Bible and write down questions that come to your mind as you study.
Invite friends, acquaintances, or complete strangers to join you.
RSVP, so Pastor Chris will know how much food to order.
Show up, eat, ask your questions, and come ready to fellowship and learn.

Ladies Brunch

Ladies, you are invited to a Saturday brunch at Center Springs Church. The brunch will be catered, so there is no need to bring anything except yourself and your appetite. This is a great opportunity to relax and fellowship with fellow women of faith.

Sheriff Puckett's Pals:

Quite often sheriff's deputies are called to situations that involve small children. We are collecting stuffed animals to donate to the sheriff's department, so these deputies have something to help break the ice between them and the children they try to comfort and protect.

Ladies' Luncheon

The Ladies' Birthday Luncheon for October will be on Monday, October 5 at 11:30 at Oh Bryan's in Hartselle.

Wednesday Bible Study:

Bible Study continues this week! Come join us as we look at lives and ministries of the apostles in the book of Acts. This week, both groups will be on chapter 13.

Bible Study times this week are as follows:

Wednesdays 10:30 am at Antioch Methodist Church

Wednesdays 6:00 pm at Center Springs Church

Youth Bible Study:

Wednesdays 6:00 pm at Center Springs with music, activities, and a study on the twelve disciples.

Movie Night

Due to so many people being out of town, those who showed agreed to postpone movie night for a few weeks. We will look at having our next movie night on Sunday, September 27, and the plan is still to watch the movie "Woodlawn". As always, refreshments will be provided, and everyone is encouraged to bring some snacks of their own to share.

Free Yard Sale

The annual Free Yard Sale hosted by Center Springs Church will be Saturday, October 17 starting at 8 am. If you have any items you would like to donate, please put them in the unused Sunday School room at Center Springs Church. Please do not put any items in the family life center or the nursery as those two areas will be utilized over the next several weeks.

GroupMe has become an excellent way for us to communicate with each other and share prayer requests, praise reports, and other important information. If you have a smart phone, you can download the app to use. If you don't have a smart phone, you can go to groupme.com and create an account. If you have any questions about accessing this form of communication, feel free to talk with Pastor Chris.

If you know someone who is not getting the newsletter but might like to, there are a few things you can do: forward the newsletter to them, give Pastor Chris an email address to send it to, or give Pastor Chris a mailing address for snail mail newsletter.

Also, if you need something put in the newsletter, please let Pastor Chris know by Monday before 3 pm of that week.

Missed Communion Sunday?

If you missed communion or know someone who missed communion on first Sunday, Pastor Chris would love to provide in-home communion. Please call, text, or email to set up a time for him to come by and share communion.
