Giving Back Never Retires

October 9 is Ageism Awareness Day, a time to challenge stereotypes about growing older and celebrate the many contributions older adults make in our communities.

At Senior Resources, we see examples of positive aging every day. Older adults across West Michigan are volunteering, serving on boards, mentoring others, advocating for important causes, and finding new ways to stay engaged after retirement.

Our blog post, Giving Back Never Retires, highlights inspiring stories of local older adults who continue to make a difference through service, leadership, and community involvement. Their experiences remind us that aging is not about stepping aside. It's about continuing to grow, contribute, and find purpose.

Medicare Fraud Prevention

Scam Alert: Medicare Is Not Calling to Update Your File

If you receive a phone call claiming your Medicare file needs to be updated, hang up. Medicare is not contacting beneficiaries to "update" their files, and requests for personal information over the phone are often signs of a scam.

Protect yourself by never sharing your Medicare number, Social Security number, or banking information with an unsolicited caller. If you suspect Medicare fraud, report it.

Join Us in the Walk to End Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's disease affects millions of individuals and families, creating challenges that often extend far beyond the person living with the disease. Family members, friends, and caregivers frequently provide countless hours of support while navigating difficult decisions and changing needs.

That's why the Senior Resources team is proud to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's and help raise awareness and support for Alzheimer's care, research, and caregiver resources.

You can help support our team by joining us for a special Culver's fundraising event.

Dining to Donate

October 21, 2026 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
