ON THE COVER
"Celebremos Nuestra Herencia
con una piñata"
Design by Christy Martinez-Garcia
Vol. 20, Issue 9 ~ September/septiembre
This month's September cover This month's cover reflects a fiesta of celebration through the vibrant piñata often found at Hispanic celebrations. The color in every layer expresses pride in culture and heritage, now part of celebrations for everyone. I always enjoy the excitement brought on by the piñata, and how everyone jumps at the content and fun it brings, which I thought was appropriate as we celebrate this observance. As we embark on Hispanic Heritage Month, it is great to see our colorful culture. We are a community of 57 million strong who refuse to be a political piñata during elections and when facing issues. That's why every voice and every vote matters. Collectively, we can achieve big dreams for our community of all backgrounds! And together, I hope we can celebrate the differences that our city observes. With that, let the celebration begin from September 15th to October 15th! Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! ¡Feliz mes de la Herencia Hispana!
Just to remind you, our September issue also includes lots of great photos, events, updates, and centralized news and resources for our readers. And of course, many good memories. We've got a copy awaiting you.
