Greetings!
April has come and is almost gone. It's been 1 year since the whole world was put on lockdown and a year later my outlook on life is completely different. When we were first put into lockdown, like many of you, I felt like life came to a complete standstill. I mourned the loss of being able to run my business, see my friends and family, and to go out and enjoy restaurants, shops, and theatre's. Honestly I think I mourned for a solid year. But, over the last few weeks, as I have reflected on the past year, I have seen that 2020 was just a transition phase for me. 2020 turned me into a completely different person. 2020 taught me to never take for granted the simple luxuries of life. Whether it's meeting friends for coffee, going to a movie, being able to go to church, or simply being able to hug someone, I now know never to take these things for granted. 2020 also taught me that it's ok to not be on the go all the time. I found out there are lots of things that I thought were important before really weren't that important. I found out that I can live with a lot less stuff. Best of all, I found out that I have an awesome community with my beading friends online. I turned to beading more than ever this past year and I know a lot of you did as well. Thank you for being apart of that community. Thank you for being friends, cheerleaders, and mentors. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of your world as well. As 2021 keeps trucking along I know that it will bring changes to all of us as well but I hope that our community will remain strong. I am committed to continuing to come up with new projects and content for you all.

When I was in High School my main goal in life was to become and American History Teacher. I love History and my American History teacher was a wonderful woman and one of my biggest cheerleaders in my quest to become a teacher. Even though life went differently than I had planned, I have always been grateful for the teachers in my life. This year May 4th is Teacher Appreciation Day. In honor of this, if you are a teacher we would like to reward you. Simply email us a copy of your school ID or send us proof you're a teacher and we'll send email you a coupon code that can be used May 9th-15th as well as a free pattern. You can email your info to me before May 4th to off_the_beaded_path@yahoo.com and I will email you the coupon code. A big THANKS to you for being an awesome asset to our children and loved ones!!!!!

Monday Video:
Don't you hate it when your expensive Bead Boards get dirty? I know I do! I've gotten some marks on my Ultimate Bead Board so I zoom called my Friend Ree Stanley, the Bead Wrangler, to get her advise. On Monday May 3rd she'll tell us all all about her boards, the process that goes into making the boards, and how to clean the boards. Once the video is live, you will be able to find it HERE
I also have a lot of other great project videos lined up for May. Just as a heads up, on Monday May 10th I will be debuting a video on the Navette Wave Bracelet. If you want to have your beads ready you will need 1.5mm leather, 3HL Navette Beads, a few 8/0 Seed beads, two 11/0 Seed Beads, a button, size 10 beading needle, and 8lb fire line.

What's Cooking?
This past Sunday we had Pizza night at our house. I didn't want to order takeout or purchase a store bought pizza so I decided to make my own from scratch. I found a wonderful recipe from www.sallysbakingaddiction.com that not only makes the pizza crust but also makes enough dough for a few garlic knots. This crust was super easy to make and Sammy and Grayson LOVED it. This is a keeper!!!! You can find the recipe HERE. Sally also has some other great recipes I'm planning on trying out the next few weeks.

What I'm Reading this Week:
This week I'm reading Brewed Awakening by Cleo Coyle. This is the 18th book in the Coffee House Mystery Series. I started reading this series a few weeks ago and have been drinking them in. I have loved most of the books in the series and have come to love the characters. I'm sad because this is the most current book in the series which means for now I'm caught up. No worries! I will have more book recommendations next week because I made a trip to Knoxville TN last week to MaKay's Bookstore and stocked up on lots of new good reads!
