SolarAPP+ Same-Day Automated Permitting Service

for Home Solar Energy Systems Now Available

Starting today, Solar Contractors can access SolarAPP+ (Solar Automated Permit Processing Plus), an innovative system designed to streamline and automate the residential solar permitting process.

With the launch of the SolarAPP+ web portal, Prince William County proudly becomes the third and largest locality in Virginia and the fifth jurisdiction on the East Coast to provide same-day automated permitting services for home solar energy installations.

Mandi Spina, the Director of the Department of Development Services, expressed her enthusiasm, stating that this initiative is set to transform the residential solar permitting landscape in the County. She emphasized that the long-term goal of SolarAPP+ is to significantly benefit residents and contribute to the reduction of climate emissions by making the installation of solar panels on rooftops quicker and more efficient.

We believe this is a major step forward in promoting renewable energy and sustainability in our community.
