The holidays are almost here, and I hope you’re able to spend some time with family and friends.
Christmas, for me, is a mix of family traditions and quieter moments. Christmas Eve is spent with my dad, watching a Christmas movie. On Christmas day, we head to morning mass, then over to my sister’s for a proper Christmas dinner - complete with the best turkey in the world, with the world's best gravy, made by my nephew (no debate). Me, I'm on mashed potatoes. It’s a lovely reminder to slow down and enjoy who you’re with.
Boxing Day is my reset. After breakfast, I’ll take a long walk from Leaside down to Little Portugal, a peaceful way to power down after the holiday rush. My route takes me through the Mount Pleasant cemetary, which has Canada's largest arboretum. I might stop for a treat in Yorkville or tuck away a Boxing Day find for next year, before heading home to cozy up with a movie.
I’ve also been popping into Biddell Boutique, a new consignment shop on Dundas. The strip has quickly become a go-to destination for consignment and vintage shopping in the city - worth a wander if you’re in the area. What better time to go than when Boxing Day sales are happening!
As for the market, there’s still plenty of noise. Many economists, including Benjamin Tal, suggest uncertainty around jobs, global politics, and trade should start to ease later this year after the US midterm elections. Variable interest rates are coming down, even if fixed rates remain steady, and that’s helping create a buyer’s market. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment, this may be it.
If you’re curious about what’s happening in the market or thinking about making a move, please feel free to email or call anytime. Right now, I have five properties available for lease, and while winter typically brings fewer new listings, I’ll also be bringing a wonderful property in Hamilton back to market early in the new year.
Thank you for your support over the past year. Your trust truly means a great deal to me, and I’m grateful to do work I genuinely enjoy. If you know any friends or family who may be thinking about buying or selling, I’d be honoured by an introduction.
Wishing you a joyful, peaceful Christmas and many blessings for a bright and wonderful New Year.
Take good care, hope to see you soon - and toodle loo for now.
