This Sunday, November 1 | 11:00 AM Worship Service

Join us this Sunday for a special All Saints' Day service. It is a meaningful morning where we pause to give thanks for the saints who have shaped our faith and left lasting imprints on our hearts. As a cherished part of our worship together, we will share a moving moment of remembrance by reading aloud the names of those in our community who have passed since last year. We look forward to sharing this beautiful and sacred tradition with you.

2027 STEWARDSHIP

Over the past two years, our congregation’s commitment has built remarkable momentum. Between 2025 and 2026, pledging families grew 14% (from 77 to 88 households), while total pledged dollars increased 15%, rising from $1,004,379 to $1,153,436. For 2027, the Board of Stewards approved a congregation-wide pledge goal of $1.3 million, the amount needed to balance the church’s budget.

Join us by completing your pledge card or pledging online by November 8, 2026. Every commitment moves our ministries, worship, and community outreach forward together.

All-Church Mission Sunday & Thanksgiving Food Drive

November 15
9:45 AM | High Court

As part of our 90th Anniversary celebration, we are excited to combine our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive with our All-Church Mission Sunday on November 15, 2026. Join us in the High Court at 9:45 a.m. for a special morning dedicated to fellowship, gratitude, and giving back to the community that has supported us for nearly a century.

To honor our 90th year, our goal is to donate 90 fully stocked bags of groceries and 90 manual can openers. We are collecting the most-needed pantry and household items listed below. Please bring your filled bags of groceries to the church on Sunday, November 15, where they will be blessed during the morning's worship service.

  • Hearty Soups
  • Dry Pasta & Pasta Sauce
  • Canned Fruits & Vegetables
  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Tuna or Chicken
  • Boxed Dry Cereal
  • Granola Bars
  • Toilet Paper & Bar Soap
  • Diapers (sizes 5 & 6)

Then, roll up your sleeves and participate in our hands-on service projects, which include packaging beans and rice for the Christian Community Service Center (CCSC) and decorating brown paper bags for Kids’ Meals.

Let’s share our harvest and make this anniversary milestone our most impactful season of giving yet!

Children's Coat Drive

Now through November 29

Winter may take its time getting to Texas, but it eventually arrives, and no child should have to brave the cold without a proper jacket. Each year, your incredible generosity helps us provide winter coats to children in need, and we are thrilled to start collecting again. All the coats we collect will go directly to the students at Shearn Elementary School.

How to donate: Simply bring your new or gently used coats and jackets and place them in one of our designated drop boxes.

Where to go: You’ll find collection bins waiting for you in the Church Office, the Preschool, and the Narthex of the Sanctuary.

Let’s fill those boxes and make sure no child is left out in the cold!

Happy Pastor Appreciation Month

October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and the West U UMC staff and faith family extends their gratitude to our pastors Joy and Preston. Ministry is no easy task, but we are incredibly blessed to be led by two people who make it look like an absolute joy—and a whole lot of fun. Together, you two bring the perfect balance of laughter, love, and leadership. Thank you, Preston and Joy, for pouring your hearts into us week after week. We love and appreciate you both!
