Supporting the Students, Teachers, & Administrators of Volusia County Schools for 41 Years

Founded in 1985, FUTURES is a nonprofit, direct support organization for Volusia County Schools. Its mission is to engage business, civic, and district leaders to promote and achieve educational excellence for Volusia County Public Schools. FUTURES’s 30-member board of directors consists of area leaders who direct and raise funds to facilitate a variety of programs in the school district. Among many programs, FUTURES facilitates Take Stock in Children, providing scholarships & mentoring to high school students; Teacher Classroom Grants & the Teacher Resource Store, providing funds & free classroom supplies to teachers across the district; and various recognition programs to boost morale.
While most of FUTURES’ programming is intended to support students, teachers & administrators, Principal for a Day provides business partners the opportunity to get a backstage look at a local school. This year, business partners are invited to shadow a principal the morning of October 27th and then all business partners, principals & district leadership gather for a debrief luncheon at the Sanborn Center in DeLand.
