Ethics and Residential Conveyancing Sections Webinar on September 12th

New Revisions to Rule 1.15: Reporting of

Unclaimed and Unidentified IOLTA Funds

Please join REBA's Ethics and Residential Conveyancing Sections for a webinar program at 12 noon on Thursday, September 12th. Jenna Miara, Executive Director of the Massachusetts IOLTA Committee, and REBA Ethics Section Co-chair Erin Higgins, Managing Partner at Conn Kavanaugh Rosenthal Peisch & Ford, LLP, will present.

The Supreme Judicial Court has enacted changes to the IOLTA provisions of Rule 1.15 that become effective on September 1st.   As a result of these changes, banks must notify the BBO of inactive IOLTA accounts, and lawyers must transfer unclaimed and unidentified funds to the IOLTA Committee within specified time periods, with notice to the BBO of transfers over $500. Learn about the rule changes and how they will be implemented at this one-hour webinar.

This webcast program, open to all REBA members, is from 12 to 1 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

To register, RSVP to Matt Zarrella at zarrella@reba.net.
