Venezuela 2025.
WILPF US’s DISARM/End Wars and Cuba and Bolivarian Alliance Issue Committees have issued a joint statement on Venezuela and calls to action for members and the public. You can take immediate action by:
- Calling the US Capitol Switchboard: 202-224-3121 and ask to speak to your representative’s office staff. Demand that your representatives in Congress support the two active War Powers Resolutions to stop unauthorized U.S. military action against Venezuela, one led by Rep. Ilhan Omar in the House, and one led by Senators Tim Kaine, Adam Schiff, and Rand Paul in the Senate. Both are procedurally positioned to move forward, and both require immediate public pressure to force a vote.
- Using the WILPF statement to write to your Congressional Representative and two Senators. You can also use the statement to write a letter to the editor of your local community newspaper.
- Joining any demonstrations in your hometowns against the US's military attack on Venezuela.
Follow the continuing story of the kidnapping of President Maduro in your preferred news outlet. This US government action will have repercussions worldwide. If Congress doesn’t rein President Trump in, he will be further emboldened to commit more lawless and unaccountable violence.
