It's Sustain It Saturday!
Hello - Today is the final day of Kindness Week . So, where do we go from here?

Forward. Together. With Kindness.

Kindness was spreading like wildfire before Kindness Week began. After spending the past week amplifying it here, in our community, the spirit is nearly palpable. So, let's bottle that up and continue to plant, nurture, sustain and grow it!

While there is so much outside of our individual and collective control right now, we can focus on bringing out the best in ourselves and each other.

We ask that you light a candle this evening , perhaps placing it outside for others to see, to celebrate the ways you've sparked kindness this week and remind yourself to keep it going.

We look forward to a future time when we can celebrate kindness together, in the physical presence of each other. It will happen and we will be there. When the time is right, we will look to all of YOU who are reading this to be part of it, just as you have been part of this week!

As we continue to move through this challenging time in our lives, Westborough Connects will forge ahead and use our newsletters to share the important and positive things from around the community, as well as resources we learn about that will help us be strong, resilient, kind and connected.

We are all in this together.

Thank you and take good care.

It's time for a Heart Hunt for " Hearts for Healthcare Workers"

In last Friday's newsletter, we mentioned the #HeartsforHealthcareWorkers campaign. How about making it into a Heart Hunt ! Simply cut a heart out of paper, using any color or decoration you have. Hang in a street/front-facing window as a symbol of appreciation for all our healthcare workers. As the rain clears this weekend, go on a walk or drive to see how many kind hearts you can find. Let us know how you did!
The Kindness Rocks Project began a new initiative this year on social media. The campaign, called #BecauseOfYourKindness , encourages people to write a message to thank someone for their kindness, post that message, and tag the person they are thanking.

To take part in this campaign, download this template , write your message, and post it with the following hashtags #becauseofyourkindness , #KindnessConnectsUs and #WCKindnessWeek2020 . You can also create your own sign by referencing the picture shown.
You can post pictures of your signs in the comments section of a post on our Facebook page ( @WCKindnessWeek ) or email them to us at westboroughconnects@gmail.com. Emailed photos may be posted to our Westborough Connects Kindness Week 2020 Facebook page, with your first name and last initial.

Watch this animated short “Color Your World with Kindness” to see how kind acts can brighten the world one person at a time. We hope it encourages you to keep the kindness going beyond this week.
Listen to a read aloud of the children’s book Ordinary Mary’s Extraordinary Deed by Emily Pearson. Seeing the impact of one girl’s good deed multiply and make its way back to her will hopefully inspire us all to always act with kindness.
Thank you to our
Partners in Kindness!!
The wonderful plans from our Partners in Kindness will need to wait for now. We are grateful for their support of Kindness Week .

You'll notice many of them are local, small businesses and they are absolutely feeling the strain at this time. Small businesses contribute to the character of the community. They are generous and they give back. When you have the means and opportunity to, we hope you will support them.
