Welcome back from Spring Break! It is hard to believe, but we are entering the homestretch of the 2022-2023 school year. The fourth quarter starts next week and the entire school year wraps up in just two months’ time. In fact, AP testing begins in just eighteen days and parents, we need your help!
Our Langley students are smart, ambitious, hard-working and often challenge themselves by enrolling in AP level classes. As a result, sixteen different AP exams are being offered to our Langley students this May and over forty volunteers are needed to support them.
Taking AP exams might be hard but proctoring them is easy! No prior experience (or studying!) is necessary. All volunteers will be paired with knowledgeable members of the Student Services team and duties will be limited to managing test supplies and supervising the exams.
Click this link to view the AP exam schedule and commit to proctoring one of them. If you have been wanting to volunteer at Langley but do not have time for a lengthy commitment, this “one and done” volunteer opportunity is perfect for you. Consider signing up today so our Student Services department will know that our students’ testing needs are covered. Thank you!
~ Jamie H. Loving, PTSA President

Langley HS’s Saxon Stage presents Urinetown, a hilarious musical about human rights, romance, revolutions…and toilets. Urinetown most notably won the Best Book and Best Score at the 2002 Tony Awards and is a musical comedy fit to make all audiences laugh, from Saxon Stage to Broadway.
Urinetown is a musical that pokes fun at musicals, and the Saxon Stage students are having laughs from script to stage. Performers are busy learning their lyrics and lines, rehearsing ensemble dance choreography, researching political principles discussed in the story and chuckling backstage at the comedy onstage in the show. Tech students spent afternoons constructing a large platform set fit with a sewer system crawl space, designing stylized costume and makeup looks for each Urinetown character and implementing a new surround sound system in the Langley Auditorium.
Performances are Apr 20-22 at 7 pm and Apr 23 at 2:30 pm in the Langley Auditorium (Door 14). Snag your tickets here or at the door. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and $5 for seniors.

Student Services needs parent volunteers to help in administering AP testing from May 1-11. You will be paired with a knowledgeable member of the Student Services team and only be tasked with assisting in handing out and collecting materials and supervising the test. Test proctoring runs about 4 hours per test, and the exams generally begin at 8 am and 12 pm.
You can see how AP tests are administered and get to know some of our student services staff better. The only rule is that you can’t proctor a test your student is taking. Sign up here.
Because of the vast amount of testing done in the building, every proctor is greatly appreciated!
