Four-Time Emmy Award Winner at Non-Fiction Book Club Tomorrow

Michael Joseloff

Michael Joseloff, a four-time Emmy Award–winning TV news and documentary producer, writer, and author, will talk about his book "The Greatest Scientific Gamble" at the Y's Men Non-Fiction Book Club tomorrow. The Club meets at 2:00 pm in room 109/110 at the Saugatuck Congregational Church.

Joseloff lives in New York City, and his work has aired on PBS, ABC, CBS, A&E, Discovery Channel, Court TV, Frontline, CNBC, and other networks. He was a staff producer at The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour from 1983 to 1995, where he produced hundreds of stories.

His specialty as an author is the World War II race to build the atomic bomb, especially the relationship between American and German physicists. His interest reportedly began in 1993 while he was producing a MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour segment about alleged Soviet espionage in the Manhattan Project; that led him toward figures like Werner Heisenberg, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Enrico Fermi, Samuel Goudsmit, and the Alsos Mission, the Allied effort to discover how far Nazi Germany had gotten with nuclear weapons.

Joseloff is the brother of the late Gordon Joseloff, also an Emmy Award winning journalist, who served as First Selectman of Westport for two terms.

All Y’s Men and spouses, friends, and guests are welcome. Refreshments will be served….please come and enjoy!
