4th of July Continues to be City Showcase

The 4th of July holiday continues to be my favorite celebration throughout our city. Along with commemorating those who fought and won our nation's Independence, I also enjoy the multitude of festivities that take place in Lebanon that lead up to the 4th. I love seeing the smiles on so many faces, as our park and other amenities are enjoyed by many.

Of course, you can't mention the 4th of July in Lebanon without touting the 4th of July Parade. In my opinion, it gets better and better with each passing year! The originality, and sheer number of parade float entrees is impressive. If you have never been to the 4th of July Parade, I highly recommend it.

A reminder during this 4th of July holiday to please use caution and respect people and pets during the season. Fireworks can be a blast, but according to Indiana State Police, they should only be discharged from 9 a.m. until midnight on the 4th, and 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. other days.

I hope you have a safe and fun 4th!

Dancing & Dedication at the Parks Department

The date and time for the 2023 Daddy-Daughter Dance is set! Come out on Saturday, August 26th to the Seashore Waterpark Pool Deck for a night of dancing and fun! This year's theme is mermaids, and we will have TWO real-life mermaids for visits and pictures! Cost is $20 per couple and $5 per additional child - which includes dinner and all activities. You can pre-register using this link, or by giving our office a call at 765-482-8860. Tickets will also be sold at the door. We hope to see you there!

Hats off to the Parks Department for its dedication to clean up, after severe weather blew through at the end of June.

Trees were blown over and benches were broken. Some park equipment didn’t escape harm’s way, either. To help get things back to normal, many members of the department were on the job early, with chainsaws and determination to get things cleaned up.

Also, Lauren Argotte received her banner and plaque for winning with her Agriscience Fair! Lauren will also be representing Indiana at National Convention.

Aaliyah Carlisle and Kira King received 3rd place in the state with their Ag Mech Demo.

User-Friendly Dumpster Delivered to Street Department

Easier to use dumpsters have been delivered to the Street Department. Users won't have to climb steps while discarding their items anymore. A simple lift of the lid is all that's needed to discard unwanted items.

A reminder that no trash bags are to be put into the dumpsters. Items only, please.

Congrats to: Tyler Rigdon, Spencer Gully, Joshua Messersmith, Katie Pallikan, and Katie Davis for doing their part to take home the title!
