As part of our ongoing talks with Oregon State Parks about the dock repair issues, they have an open invite to this cruise to visit. We don't know whether they will come, but we would like to make sure there is a good number of boats at the docks when/if they come. Also, it should be a fun weekend! PLEASE RSVP so they can plan the needed food and make sure we don't get too many.

Opening Day - May 2nd - with our recently approved Theme "Spring into Boating"

This year the parade will complete the route in front of the Vancouver Waterfront as we did last year. We are going to need to get all of the Club/Organizations Fleet Captains information so that we can make sure everyone has the information that they need. We will be getting our 2026 poster/flyer ready soon for distribution and advertising of the event as well as Captains Meeting dates set.

Our Judging Committee is set. Our Opening Day Parade Marshal will be Kat Pettersen of TYEE Yacht Club. She was instrumental in helping to get our first Vancouver Waterfront Parade created.

We are looking for dignitaries to join us on one of the review boats or in the parade. Please talk with your club delegate or email us at Info@crya.us if you know of someone that should be invited to experience Opening Day so we can include them.

The 2026 Cruise Guide is Complete and Ready for Delivery!

Jolene Walsh has completed the printing process and is ready to deliver the guides to your club or pickup location. She asks that you contact her via email at jcoats@freshwaternews.com to schedule your delivery or pickup.

Updates From Your CRYA Dock Committee

Hadley's Landing Ramp Repair - After a number of meetings with Oregon State Parks as well as the Marine Board we have a plan in place to get the access Ramp repair process going. A Small Grant process is available from the Marine Board and we are working with State Parks to get this application completed. It does require a 25% match. Oregon State Parks and CRYA will work to split the amount which comes to $3,125 each. CRYA will hold a vote on this at the General Meeting on Tuesday Feb. 17th. This work will be completed with a bid that is in place from a local Marine Construction Firm. Please note that it is not "legal" to cross the yellow construction tape at the docks. You can be ticketed if caught and there is a trail cam nearby to take note of.

Schwitter Landing Dock - The Grant process is complete where $200,000 has been approved to start the process of making sure any repairs will be done with the idea that the repairs will last this time. There are some questions about the wording in the Grant, it's important that if not all of the money is used for analysis, the remainder can be used to start the work. We expect to see soon a project proposal on this work. This project will take some time as new pilings will likely be needed to help support the long-term success of the repairs.

Please Share your boating Stories of Interest to our team to Share with others. Club things, Community Boating Things, Personal Boating Stories. Many things are of interest so Please Share!

We can't see every club's internal communication, but we have to think some of the articles would be great information for all boaters. If you find that article of interest, please forward it to cryanews@gmail.com after getting approval to share. We can all be more informed.
