September 19, 2025

Dear Residents,

It’s hard to believe that Monday is already the first day of fall. It actually happens to be my favorite time of year, as I look forward to the leaves changing colors, the cooler air and the holidays which are now right around the corner.

Fall also happens to be a busy time for many organizations to hold events, and here in Orangetown there is no shortage of them. With too many to list here, I encourage you to scroll down and explore the wide variety of great activities taking place this weekend.

However, one event that should not be missed is the Blauvelt Sons of Italy Italian Feast & Carnival that is taking place at the Masonic Park Fairgrounds in Tappan. Gates open tonight at 5 pm and there will be music from the Sun Dogs, Incidental Contact and Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan. It runs through Sunday and, if you have never been, it is a must—delicious food, outstanding music, games and more to enjoy.

Fall is also a great time to head over to the Pearl River or Piermont Farmers Markets, where they offer a great variety of fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables. For vendor lineups each week, follow them on Facebook at Pearl River Farmers Market or Piermont Farmers Market. And be sure to mark your calendar for November 8, 2025, when we will be holding the first-annual Pearl River Food Truck Festival. For more information, including vendor inquiries, please email TheSouk.PearlRiverFarmersMarket@gmail.com.

With so many great options for things to do this weekend, and with Mother Nature cooperating, it is the perfect weekend to get out and enjoy it!

And to those who celebrate, wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Regards,

Teresa M. Kenny

Supervisor Kenny and the Nyack Seniors

Last week, Supervisor Kenny met with the Nyack Seniors and their President, Dean Hoffman. She provided an update on recent happenings around town and was especially excited to share the news that the Olson Center has been purchased by Orangetown.

Welles Crowther Press Conference

Last Friday, Supervisor Kenny joined Rep. Mike Lawler, Allison Crowther and other elected officials at a press conference urging President Trump to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Welles Remy Crowther. Supervisor Kenny followed up with a letter of recommendation in support of this request. To read the letter, click HERE.

It was an emotional event, as the story of the 9/11 hero—forever remembered as “The Man in the Red Bandana”—was tearfully recalled by his mother.
