"Cantaloupe" the Family Picnics This Summer

Seriously, can anyone get enough of this sweet, orange-fleshed melon? Providing guilt-free pleasure with its juicy deliciousness, cantaloupes are a big hit! After washing and scrubbing its exterior, you can eat it as a snack or dessert, or simply toss them in a salad for a juicy twist at the upcoming picnic or barbecue. With its large proportion of water, it is a convenient way to stay hydrated in the summer heat.

There are a ton of ways this fruit can be incorporated into your diet. Some people even blend it into their smoothies (frozen) and salsas! To enhance your beverages, you can even incorporate cantaloupe into your lemonade, iced tea, or water. How clever, right?

While shopping for the perfect cantaloupe, search for one that is firm, heavy, and somewhat symmetrical with no soft spots or bruises.
