WHAT'S NEW IN DEVELOPMENT
|
|
The Development team is consistently working with suppliers in order to make managing your inventory in AIM easier for you. To that end, we have found it to be most helpful for you, the retailer, to initiate the conversation by reaching out to suppliers that you would like us to work with. Because, wouldn’t it be great to have inventory automatically loaded into your AIM system? How about having your price changes, new and discontinued items automatically updated in AIM with a push of a button? If you would like to reach out to a supplier in order to have them send us their catalog, we can make their data available in the Active-e supplier connection, giving you access to the inventory data and saving you the time of manually inputting it and making updates!
[Sample Email] Did you know that independent retailers such as us spend hundreds of hours each year keeping our POS/Accounting system updated with your data, whether it’s keying in new items, price changes or updating discontinued items? We use the AIM POS/Accounting system by Tri-Tech who has also developed integration services called Active-e which solves this problem by keeping retailers that use the AIM software up to date with your catalog information. All you need to do is provide your catalog information to Tri-Tech in a consistent and timely manner. Active-e will take your catalog information and provide it to us and other retailers who use AIM in the format needed so it can be imported into our AIM software. Active-e has built in protection so that only authorized retailers can access your inventory catalog information, keeping your inventory data secure. Implementation is very easy, and this is a zero-cost program to you. Please contact supplierconnections@tritechretail.com to get it set up today.

Did you know that you can save a keystroke or two in the new service ticket program? ServiceTicketAutoAddRepairService - This system variable controls how services are automatically added when first entering inventory in the New Service Ticket module. Valid numbers are:
- 0 - Do not automatically add a service
- 1 - Automatically open Quick Service
- 2 - Automatically open individual Service form.

Holidays = Sales
The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting colder, and that means it's time to start planning for your holiday sales events! If you intend to offer discounts, you can use AIM's "Establish Sales Parameters" utility to automatically process those discounts during your sales period. No need to have to train your sales staff on new procedures, they can keep on their process as normal. You can set discounts by inventory category/subcategory, manufacturer, customer type, new/used status, and so much more. Questions? Give our support team a call. Need one-on-one expertise? Book an online training session from the Member Portal or by calling us today!

University Vacuum and Sewing (formerly known as Windsor Vacuum), located in Des Moines, IA, was founded in 1988. David and Denise Rairdin worked for the company for four years before purchasing the business from then owner and founder, Frank DeBartolo. In January of 2018, the company logo and name were changed to University Vacuum and Sewing, and the store was refreshed for their 30th Anniversary. The Rairdin’s employ 1 part-time and 5 full-time employees, including their daughter, Emily. Emily does a bit of everything from fixing and selling vacuum and sewing machines, to helping customers and taking care of all the computers and most of the advertising. University Vacuum and Sewing brings over 80 years of experience in the vacuum, sewing, and cleaning industry and with that hard work and dedication to providing reliable service, they have become one of the most trusted vacuum stores in all of central Iowa.
University Vacuum and Sewing has been using AIM for three years, after using a system that was out of date and following the closure of the software business. Emily and her coworkers saw Tri-Tech in Las Vegas at the VDTA/SDTA Convention and the features of AIM that helped make them decide to purchase the software was how easy it is to edit and customize. It has taken some time to get all their information transferred from an old system to AIM but Emily has found it helpful to have their customer history in one place, as it makes her job easier. Emily uses the service module to manage their repair and service department. She has made different services with “checked in by…” so that when they check a machine in, they know the serial number, model and why the machine is in the shop, as well as how much the customer is willing to pay to have it repaired.

When asking Emily what her favorite feature of AIM is, she responded, “The way I am able to customize things. For instance, I have some employees who are not very tech savvy so being able to lock them out of areas of AIM where they could accidentally click on and mess up, makes my life easier.” Emily also stated, “I like how you can customize the home screen and the POS screen. The boys like to request for me to make buttons. We have a little too much fun sometimes.”
We would like to thank the team at University Vacuum and Sewing for their loyalty, support and business. Check them out at https://255dust.com/.
