Taskforce on climate set
The Tribal Council has set up a Climate Resiliency Taskforce to help come to grips with the changing climate within our traditional and historical homelands. There is an understanding that these changes may have a disproportional impact on Coquille Tribal people. Therefore, the taskforce has been charged with making recommendations to Tribal Council on how to adapt to and mitigate these potential impacts.
Named to the taskforce were Shelley Estes, Canyon Niblett, Edward J. Metcalf, Annette Sandberg and Rocky Doyle. Staff members appointed to join them were Mark Healy, Anne Niblett, and Jessica Hamner, who will also serve as facilitator.
The Climate Resiliency Taskforce meetings will be open to Tribal members in person and virtually. The next two meetings are:
Monday, July 31, 2023 - Tribal Administration, 3050 Tremont St., North Bend, OR – Tribal Council Chambers. 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
Thursday, August 10, 2023 @ Tribal Administration, 3050 Tremont St., North Bend, OR – Tribal Council Chambers. 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
