"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."
Hebrews 13:16
It’s been nearly four months since the island of Bohol was ripped apart by Super Typhoon Odette, leaving the island without electricity and running water. Yet, during these dark moments, Christ’s light shines the brightest. We thank you for your generosity in giving toward the relief fund and want to share how your gift has created opportunities for His Church to be a beacon to others.
Please enjoy the video below!
House of Prayer Church in Inabanga, Bohol
Pastor Nestor and his wife, Susan are CCI partners. A few years ago, they started a church in Inabanga, Bohol. It was not an easy church plant as they have faced much persecution from their neighbors.

In December, Typhoon Odette blew off the church roof and walls. CCI leader Melvin Caindoy (whom you met in the video) discovered their needs and helped with rebuilding the church. The church's persecuting neighbors were also affected by the typhoon. Despite receiving taunts from these neighbors, Pastor Nestor shared some of their relief goods with them. The persecuting neighbors were amazed at his generosity and kindness even though they had always given him a hard time.

Through CCI relief efforts, the attitudes of the persecuting neighbors have changed. These neighbors are now more accepting of hearing God's Word. Will you pray for the salvation of these people? May they come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Cataban Island, Bohol
Pastor Ruel lives on Cataban Island, an island off of Talibon, Bohol. He is the pastor of Cataban Baptist Church. Thanks to your giving, he was able to buy a second-hand fishing boat to replace the one destroyed by the typhoon. He has a family of eight, and fishing is how he feeds and supports his family.

Ubay, Bohol
Jonathan and Johnny are two Bible school students from Ubay, Bohol. When Typhoon Odette hit, it destroyed their homes. The two Bible students had to stop attending Bible school to find work and help their families rebuild their homes.

They heard that the Prodigy School in Tagbilaran was doing construction work and came in search of work. Prodigy School is operated by the daughter (Stacy, whom you met in the video) and son-in-law of CCI's Vice President. The school has been serving as a center for distributing CCI relief items. The young Bible students were given the materials needed to repair their family homes. These kind-hearted young men also shared some of the roofing materials with other people in the church. They said that this way, everybody would benefit. Thanks to the CCI relief fund, these two young men can return to Bible school and finish the school year.

Thank you for being a part of the relief efforts supporting churches and pastors affected by the typhoon. These stories demonstrate how the Lord uses His church to meet the needs of the people and share the hope of Jesus Christ. We give God all the glory.
Grace and Peace,
