OUR HEARTFELT GRATITUDE TO THE LAGUNA COMMUNITY

Dear Laguna community,

The inaugural Golden Oak Gala is an example of what happens when a strong community comes together for a common purpose. We are incredibly grateful to our passionate, generous, and committed Event Chairs Jen Drucker and Melissa Henderson (pictured above). They worked seamlessly with volunteers and others throughout the school and designed a spectacular night for our community to enjoy. I am grateful for their leadership and for your generosity! With your support, we netted $470k for our students and we will move forward with these exciting initiatives!

I want to reiterate my thanks to all of our volunteers, event sponsors, committee members, and community donors. I am so impressed by everyone’s willingness to step in wherever and whenever needed. Nearly all of the event expenses were covered by our event sponsors and ticket sales, allowing funds raised at the gala to go directly to the school.

I invite you to relive the evening with me by clicking on the links below.

AUCTIONS ITEMS FOR PICK UP
The online auction is officially closed. All winners will be notified via email. With this week’s school closure due to weather and our annual all-school Field Day event on Friday, March 17, items purchased online and at the event—including wine pulls—can be picked up at Braun House on the Hope Ranch campus between 8:30am and 4:00pm starting Monday, April 3.
GR. EK-12 FIELD DAY IS TOMORROW, 3/17
Tomorrow, we launch into spring break with our annual EK-12 Field Day! We have a fun half-day of community bonding and competition scheduled. A pizza lunch will be provided for all once the morning's activities conclude, with gluten and dairy-free options available for those who need them.

GRADES 5-12
Drop-off should be no later than 8:15AM. Students should come to school with a water bottle and comfortable shoes that can get a little dirty during our outdoor activities. The field is a bit muddy!
GRADES EK-4
Students should arrive at Lower School in the morning at the usual time with a water bottle and a healthy snack in a disposable container. Students should be dressed in their Field Day t-shirt (sent home today) and athletic shoes and socks. Students will have their morning snack at Lower School. At 10:30AM, students and faculty will board transportation and meet the Middle and Upper School students on the Hope Ranch athletic fields.

Dismissal for all Laguna students is between 12:45-1PM from the Hope Ranch campus. Please note that there is no LS After School Care tomorrow after the event.
PARENTS, WE NEED YOUR INPUT
As part of our strategic planning work, we are seeking to understand how you view Laguna Blanca and its programs, and we need your help in completing this brief, confidential 10-15 minute survey. A pizza party will be awarded to the grade with the highest parent participation rate!

Parents who are new to Laguna Blanca—we also want to hear from you! The perspective of new families is uniquely important.

Thank you for your input—it is vital to Laguna Blanca’s continued success.

LOWER SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL COMPLETES ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL QUARTER
Congratulations to Alex, Kellar, Simone, and Edie for completing a fantastic third term of leadership on our Lower School Student Council!

As our current student council leaders, these students partnered with the MS/US Yearbook class on a spread featuring our Lower School Big Buddies/Little Buddies program. They also worked to launch a fourth grade student-produced newspaper. As a team, they are investigating how to coordinate a Cooking Club that uses our LS garden produce. And they also volunteer as Recess Guides, leading activities once per week for all of our LS students during lunch recess.
