Angus Wallace Hope Community Garden - Now Open!

Fresh, locally grown vegetables are now available for everyone at the Angus Wallace Hope Community Garden. Located at 199 Main Street North in Alexandria (across from Glengarry District High School), the garden provides free fresh vegetables for community members throughout the growing season.

Residents are encouraged to visit the garden and harvest an assortment of fresh produce at no cost.

The garden was established in memory of Angus Wallace "Wally" Hope (1930–2026), recognizing his lifelong dedication to North Glengarry. A respected businessman, community volunteer, charter member of the Alexandria & District Lions Club, and passionate advocate for local sports and community development, Wally's legacy continues to give back to the community.

Looking ahead, the Township and the Alexandria & District Lions Club plan to continue enhancing and expanding the garden, creating an even greater community resource for residents in the years to come.
