4 Ways to Reduce Sinus and Allergy Issues
wheelbarrow-garden-woman.jpg
Allergy symptoms can certainly put a damper on enjoying your day -- anytime of the year.

Allergies are the result of airborne agents (known as toxins, pathogens, or allergens), such as pollen, grass, mold, cedar, ragweed, household dust, animal fur & dander, or even some chemicals which enter our bodies. These toxins are taken in not only through the foods we eat and drink but through the nose, eyes, ears, mouth and even skin.

Once inside, these allergens start to wreak havoc. An “allergic reaction” means these toxins are not being broken down and eliminated through our lymphatic system fast enough.

The immune system mistakenly sees the toxins as a danger and releases antibodies that attack the allergens and release a chemical called histamine into the nose, eyes, and lungs.

Histamine is intended to attack harmful agents and remove them from the body. However, if the lymphatic system is congested the natural drainage is compromised and causes inflammation throughout the body.

Allergies Can Be Subtle
You May Not Even Know You Have Allergies

Addressing allergies with a proactive year-round maintenance approach will enhance your energy, overall health and well-being in the long run. Often, the slow progress of most allergies is barely understood, and we usually only take action when our symptoms become unbearable.

Over months and years, allergies can start with subtle symptoms that weaken the body systems, increasing inflammation. This inflammation creates an environment where other life-threatening diseases can gain a foothold. Your pain and discomfort can be rooted in allergies.
4 Actions for Allergy Relief
The good news is there are many natural remedies you can use to control your allergy symptoms:
1)     Hydrate –increased water intake throughout the day helps break down toxins and stimulate the drainage needed to rid the body of excess toxins and histamine. Adding a little lemon juice and/or apple cider vinegar to your morning water will stimulate detoxification.

2)     Take Enzymes --
Plant-based enzyme supplements are extremely helpful because enzymes are not only used to break down food. When consumed between meals, enzymes are like little Pac-Men, breaking down toxins, clearing our blood, and easing the load off our organs.

They are also anti-inflammatory agents that assist in clearing and cleaning the lymphatic system.

Here's what Dr. Anthony J. Cichoke says about the benefits of enzymes:
“Systemic enzyme therapy is used to reduce the signs of inflammation, including pain, swelling, and redness. Enzymes can stimulate the immune system, improve circulation, help speed tissue repair, bring nutrients to the damaged area, remove waste products, and enhance wellness”.
Note: Not all enzymes are alike:
  • The best enzymes will be found in vegetarian capsules, not tablets that are typically enteric-coated with added tableting agents.

  • Enzymes need vitamins and minerals (with cofactors and coenzymes) to serve as a catalyst for enzymes to do their job.

  • Choose an enzyme that is blended with a vitamin and mineral-rich organic food, such as organic microalgae. The minerals and nutrients in microalgae maximize enzyme activity. Click here for my recommendation on the best Enzyme products.

** Taking enzymes with each meal and extra enzymes
between meals for 3-10 days will clear the blood
and provide some relief from symptoms.

3)     Take Probiotics
Allergies result from an imbalance in the immune system that causes the body to react too strongly to stimuli. Many studies link the presence of beneficial bacteria in the gut with reduced incidence of allergies. Probiotics can help stimulate production of immune enhancing substances, hinder the growth of pathogens and boost the immune system.
-         A full spectrum probiotic activated with the nutrient-rich benefits of microalgae will help the microbiome to restore balance as the body begins to drain the allergens more efficiently.

4)     Get an Ear Candling – an ancient technique that stimulates the pores in the ear canal to enhance drainage for the sinuses and lymph system. An Ear Candling session will provide relief from allergy symptoms by kick starting the body to work more efficiently, reducing inflammation and stress with enhanced lymphatic drainage.
