Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame to Honor 2024–25 Super Bowl Champion Eagles with Pride of Philadelphia Award at November 6 Induction Ceremony
PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame is proud to announce that the 2024–25 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles will receive the Pride of Philadelphia Award at the 22nd Annual Induction Ceremony, to be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2025, at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia.
The Pride of Philadelphia Award recognizes teams or individuals whose accomplishments have deeply resonated within the region. This year’s Eagles join a distinguished list of past recipients — both teams and players — including the Super Bowl LII Eagles (2018), the 2008 World Champion Phillies, and Villanova’s National Champion basketball teams (2016 and 2018).
“Moments like this are what the Hall of Fame was built to honor,” said Ken Avallon, President of the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. “This Eagles team captured the spirit of this city, and it’s only fitting that we recognize them as part of this year’s celebration.”
The 2025 Induction Class includes 16 individuals and two teams whose legacies reflect the breadth of Philadelphia’s sports heritage. Among the honorees:
- Jeffrey Lurie, owner of the Eagles, celebrated for his leadership that elevated the franchise to championship status and for his philanthropic contributions—including a landmark $50 million gift to autism research and care
- Clyde Simmons, a dominant defensive end and standout on the Eagles’ fearsome 1990s defense
- Paul Holmgren, a foundational figure in Flyers history as a player, coach, and executive, and a member of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame
The night will include tributes, video highlights, and appearances from past legends and current luminaries, offering a comprehensive celebration of Philadelphia’s sports culture.
