Here's the Surprising Backstory of the Downfall of Roe v. Wade | RealClearInvestigations
Erin Hawley didn’t know that she would help make history when she took a job in February with the conservative legal group, Alliance Defending Freedom. Two months later, the former law professor was on a plane to Mississippi to serve as co-counsel with the state’s attorney general, Lynn Fitch, and its solicitor general, Scott Stewart, to win the most momentous Supreme Court case in half a century – the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
“I think it was really meaningful for me because I had a 6-month-old that I actually took to Mississippi to that meeting,” Hawley said of her efforts to end the constitutional right to abortion. “It made why Dobbs matters really concrete, to be talking about this legal strategy and these issues with a baby in tow.”
The role of Hawley, wife of Republican Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri, and the central role played by the Alliance Defending Freedom, are part of the untold story behind the case that overturned Roe and Thomas E. Dobbs, State Health Officer of the Mississippi Department of Health, et al. v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. Their relative anonymity was not an oversight, but instead part of a deliberate strategy reflecting the political sensitivities of today’s partisan political landscape. .....

100-Year Old WWII Vet Brought to Tears - He Can't Believe What America Has Become - Florida WTVT-TV
A 100-year old World War II veteran was brought to tears discussing the decline of the United States in an interview.
Florida WTVT-TV profiled Carl Dekel in late June, interviewing the Marine Corps veteran on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
Dekel discussed his lifelong optimism in the interview, describing how his focus on the bright side helped him reach his advanced age.
The Plant City, Florida native described his World War II service as the honor of a lifetime.
Drekel described serving in the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942, one of the most intense battles in the Pacific Theater of the war.
“Most important thing in my life was serving my country. I don’t think I could take away from that,” said Drekel.
“Nowadays … I am so upset that the things we did, the things we fought for, and the boys that died for it — It’s all gone down the drain.”.....

7 Charts Show Why Congress Must Get Spending Under Control Now
Millions of American families are reeling from the worst wave of inflation in more than four decades. Reduced purchasing power and shortages of basic goods, such as baby formula, have caused consumer confidence to hit record lows.
Those looking to Washington for real solutions will be left wanting. Both the Biden administration and congressional Democrats are promoting tired, failed policies: more federal micromanagement, red tape, handouts to political allies, and threats of job-killing tax hikes.
When it comes to inflation, the direction elected officials take regarding federal spending is vitally important.
Overspending has been a major factor behind inflation, as Capitol Hill and the Federal Reserve have dumped trillions upon trillions of dollars into the economy and sparked the inflationary fire. Yet, astonishingly enough, there are plans to add even more monetary gasoline.
The chart below demonstrates the staggering size of this irresponsibility.
From March 2020 through June 2022, the federal government added $7 trillion in debt. ......

Family Pulls $550,000 in Business Over Woke Bank's New Pronoun Badges, Mass Exodus Begins - Daily Mail
Halifax customers are closing their accounts en masse today after its social media team told them to leave if they don't like their new pronoun badges for staff in what is being branded one of the biggest PR disasters in British business history.
One account holder told MailOnline they have already pulled out investments and savings worth £450,000 while many more said they are closing ISAs, cutting up credit cards or transferring balances to rivals after they accused the bank of 'alienating' them with 'pathetic virtue signalling'.
The row began this week when Halifax, which was propped up by the taxpayer to the tune of £30billion as part of a 2008 bailout, tweeted its 118,000 followers on Tuesday revealing that it would allow staff to display their pronouns on their name badges, in a post that read 'pronouns matter'.
It showed a photo of a female staff member's name badge, which featured 'she/her/hers' in brackets under the name Gemma, and said the policy was .....

Five Monumental Cases That Highlighted the Supreme Court’s Term
Abortion can no longer be said to be “the law of the land,” but full protections for the preborn and the complete abolishment of abortion in every state are a battle still to be fought.
The momentous fall of Roe is indeed cause for celebration, as millions of lives will be saved as a result of the Supreme Court decision to uphold Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, overruling the precedent for federal abortion protections set by Roe v. Wade (see article on page 16). However, as many pro-lifers are reminding us, the Court’s decision ultimately was a moderate one.
What did the Supreme Court decide this term? How did each of the justices rule? And how is America impacted by the court’s rulings?
Below is a summary of five major cases from this term......

Chinese company's purchase of North Dakota farmland raises U.S. security concerns - CNBC
A Chinese food company’s purchase of 300 acres of agricultural land in North Dakota has raised the eyebrows of the nation’s national security establishment.
Shandong-based Fufeng group paid millions of dollars to three North Dakotans earlier this year to grab hold of the large chunk of farmland, citing wishes to build a milling plant.
Security experts, however, fear that agents of the Chinese government could use the property for espionage.
The land sits 20 minutes away from the Grand Forks Air Force Base, which houses some of the nation’s most sensitive drone technology, according to CNBC. According to one North Dakota lawmaker, the base manages “the backbone of all U.S. military communications across the globe.”
The Fufeng purchase seems to be part of a pattern wherein the Chinese government would use commercial projects as a front to carry out espionage campaigns against the .....

How the Media Used Russiagate Conspiracy Theories to Create a News Cartel :: Gatestone Institute
In the fall of 2019, Facebook announced that it would be writing selected media outlets some very big checks. The launch of Facebook News was billed as a way to give consumers more access to information, but it was actually an attempt at appeasing big media companies.
Facebook, with its older and more conservative user base, had become the epicenter of election conspiracies from the Clinton campaign and its media allies. While Hillary Clinton and her associates were eager to shift the blame for her defeat by relaunching their existing Russiagate smears with false claims that Russian Facebook ads had tilted the election to Donald Trump, the media's obsession with Facebook was even more corruptly self-interested.
About a third of Americans regularly get their news through Facebook. The tech giant's algorithms had the ability to make or break the news media, and would go on to break the digital media empires of the Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, and others in the lefty clickbait brigade.
While Hillary wanted someone to blame for her failures, the media wanted leverage over the company that controlled its fate. The invention of a "fake news" or "misinformation" crisis, the term that the media pivoted to once President Trump made "fake news" his own, was used to persuade Big Tech companies to censor conservatives and promote media content.
Facebook News was a walled garden that pushed the content of the major papers behind Russiagate conspiracies and misinformation alarmism while profiting massively from it. The Russiagate Facebook conspiracy theories provided the rationale for censoring conservatives and for rewarding the media outlets spreading them with special promotions and lots of money.

Chinese researchers claim they have built artificial intelligence capable of reading minds to track loyalty | news.com.au —
A new report has claimed the Chinese government is now implementing cutting edge artificial intelligence to monitor the minds of dozens of Communist party officials.
Researchers in China claimed to have developed software that can acutely analyse facial expressions and brain waves to monitor if subjects were attentive to “thought and political education”.
China’s stringent police state has been radically upscaled over the past decade, using big data, machine learning, face recognition technology and artificial intelligence to build what many have labelled the world’s most complex digital dictatorship.
According to the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Centre, the high-tech development would be used to “further solidify their confidence and determination to be grateful to the party, listen to the party and follow the party”.....

China: MI5 and FBI heads warn of ‘immense’ threat - BBC News
The heads of UK and US security services have made an unprecedented joint appearance to warn of the threat from China.
FBI director Christopher Wray said China was the "biggest long-term threat to our economic and national security" and had interfered in politics, including recent elections.
MI5 head Ken McCallum said his service had more than doubled its work against Chinese activity in the last three years and would be doubling it again.
MI5 is now running seven times as many investigations related to activities of the Chinese Communist Party compared to 2018, he added.
The FBI's Wray warned that if China was to forcibly take Taiwan it would "represent one of the most horrific business disruptions the world has ever seen".
The first ever joint public appearance by the two directors came at MI5 headquarters in Thames House, London. .....

National Archives Places 'Harmful Language Alert' on Page Hosting U.S. Constitution.
The webpage of the U.S. National Archives that hosts the nation’s own Constitution has a “harmful language alert” for readers at the top of the page. The alert now appears on many pages on the archives.org website, and links to a page entitled “NARA’s Statement on Potentially Harmful Content,” which they define as: reflect racist, sexist, ableist, misogynistic, misogynoir, and xenophobic opinions and attitudes; be discriminatory towards or exclude diverse views on sexuality, gender, religion, and more; include graphic content of historical events such as violent death, medical procedures, crime, wars/terrorist acts, natural disasters and more; demonstrate bias and exclusion in
Note: The U.S. Constitution also doesn't have any protections for people offended by someone not calling them by the proper pronouns!

The Biggest Temper Tantrum In U.S. History Has Begun
There have been many times in the history of this country when we have seen tremendous outbursts of anger, but most of those faded fairly quickly. For example, the rioting that we witnessed in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd was horrifying, but it only lasted for a matter of weeks. This time around, we are facing a national temper tantrum that won’t be measured in weeks or months. Unless the Supreme Court reverses course on abortion, and I don’t expect that will happen any time soon, the temper tantrum that we are witnessing now is not likely to have an ending point. Millions of hellish ghouls have been stirred up into a state of immense rage, and the entire nation is going to pay the price.
The violence that happened over the weekend is just the beginning. From this point forward, no pro-life organization in America will be safe.
Very early on Saturday morning, police discovered that a pro-life center in a very conservative area of Virginia had been attacked…..

A Logarithmic Map Of The Entire Observable Universe
WOW!
Among the scientific community, it’s widely believed that so far humans have only discovered about 5% of the universe.
Yet, as Visual Capitalist's Carmen Ang details below, despite knowing about just a fraction of what’s out there, we’ve still managed to discover galaxies billions of light-years away from Earth.
This graphic by Pablo Carlos Budassi provides a logarithmic map of the entire known universe, using data by researchers at Princeton University and updated as of May 2022
Before diving in, it’s worth touching on a few key details about the map.
First off, it’s important to note that the celestial objects shown on this map are not shown to scale. If it was made to scale with sizes relative to how we see them from Earth, nearly all of the objects would be miniscule dots (except the Moon, the Sun, and some nebulae and galaxies).
Secondly, each object’s distance from the Earth is measured on a logarithmic scale, which increases exponentially, in order to fit in all the data.
Within our Solar System, the map’s scale spans
astronomical units (AU), roughly the distance from the Earth to the Sun. Beyond, it grows to measure millions of parsecs, with each one of those equal to 3.26 light-years, or 206,000 AU.

How the Declaration of Independence Inspired George Washington's Underdog Army to Win | The Patriot Post
Most Americans celebrating the July 4 holiday today don’t fully realize that the power of ideas in the Declaration of Independence was the critical enabling factor for the Americans to win the War of Independence. Compared to the British professional military, the American colonial army was simply no match — it was undermanned, underfunded, underequipped, inexperienced, and undertrained. At the outset of the war, the British Royal Navy had 270 warships deployed in American waters, while the Continental Navy had seven ships.
On July 4, 1776, in what is now Manhattan, New York, Gen. George Washington was preparing for battle. He had no idea that a Declaration of Independence was being released in Philadelphia that day, as he pondered the sobering stream of British ships coming through the Narrows and anchoring off Staten Island in New York Harbor.
A month before, Washington had written a letter to his brother, saying: “We expect a very bloody summer of it in New York… If our cause is just, as I do most religiously believe it to be, the same Providence which in many instances appeared for us, will still go on to afford its aid.”
On July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia, it was also a somber day when those 56 members of the Continental Congress committed to signing the Declaration of Independence. Each knew that becoming a signatory put a death warrant on their heads for being a traitor to Great Britain......

Biden's Bid for National CRT Indoctrination | The Patriot Post
Civics education has gradually fallen out of favor in American public schools. There’s a simple reason for this: Educated citizens present an obstacle to Democrat policy objectives, and Democrats control the education complex. Citizens who know what the three branches of the federal government are and what they’re supposed to do (or not do) are less apt to clamor for bread and circuses come election time. The same goes for the states and the federalist system of government in our Republic.
Yet in too many schools, civics has either totally fallen by the wayside or is grossly mis-taught. The resulting civic ignorance, as we’ve warned before, presents a very real threat to our Constitution.
Enter the Civics Secures Democracy Act (CSDA), introduced in Congress last year and gaining a few Republican cosponsors on its way to a possible vote soon. The first thing that should jump off the page is that a bill about civics should not use the word “democracy” in its title. We live in a constitutional Republic. It is not, by the historic definition of the word, a democracy. That is modern lazy shorthand for “we get to vote on stuff.” It also just so happens to subtly remind every American that Democrats are the party supposedly standing up for our “democracy.”.....

Whistleblower Releases Zuckerberg’s 1,400-Page Manual On How To Appear Human | Babylon Bee
MENLO PARK, CA — A whistleblower inside Facebook publicly released a 1,400-page internal document trying to explain to Mark Zuckerberg how to appear human.
"Remember to blink every 5-10 seconds," reads the section On Talking To People. "Vary your intonation, but strictly avoid singing. Move your hands periodically in a somewhat rhythmic fashion to show that the rest of your body is connected to your verbal output."
Despite the clear source markings, Facebook is thus far disputing the authenticity of the manual. "It is simply ludicrous to think I would need instructions on things like how to react when someone tells a joke," said Mr. Zuckerberg, blinking precisely every 7.5 seconds. "I would never mistake a simple joke for being dangerous misinformation! What a silly thought. Listen to me laugh about it, ha-ha-ho!"
According to sources, the White House has re-purposed portions of the manual to help President Biden also appear like a functioning human adult. "It really was very helpful," said a White House aide on condition of anonymity. "We just went through and added the word 'YOU', then printed them out on postcards. The part on how to act in a human restroom has really saved us a lot of international incidents."
At publishing time, the perpetually awake Mr. Zuckerberg was dutifully laying still in his bed for exactly eight hours, as humans are supposed to do.

Dems file articles of impeachment against US Founding Fathers for inciting insurrection • Genesius Times
WASHINGTON, DC—Flanked by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and a number of other top Democrats Tuesday morning, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler officially announced two articles of impeachment will be brought against the US Founding Fathers including George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson with “incitement of insurrection”.
“Today in service to our duty to the Constitution and our country, the House committee introduces two articles impeachment charging the Founding Fathers with committing high crimes and misdemeanors,” Nadler said.
House Democrats seem to have caught impeachment fever during former President Donald Trump’s presidency, impeaching him twice.
“But we can’t impeach Biden, so we’re looking for others to impeach, and the Founding Fathers seem like excellent options,” Nadler said.
The Revolutionary War stunned and angered Democratic lawmakers and it revealed the fragility of the world’s history of peaceful transfers of power.
“They had no right to insurrect like they did,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said. Schumer also filed a separate article of impeachment for “inciting an erection.”
