Dear Residents,
October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign aimed at supporting those with the disease, educating about its risk factors, encouraging regular screening and raising funds for research. This year, the campaign is personal for me, as I recently lost a dear friend to an aggressive form of breast cancer. So please join me in doing our small part and remind your friends and family of the importance of regular screening and, if you are due (or overdue), make your appointment today. Rockland County is in the process of updating its 2011 Comprehensive Plan. The updated plan seeks to establish a long-term vision, priorities, and goals for Rockland County. The project, called Envision Rockland, is hosting a series of community workshops where you can learn about the County’s vision, explore findings from existing conditions, and give your input on such things as housing, transportation, or sustainability. The next meeting is this Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Orangetown Town Hall. For more information about Envision Rockland, click HERE.
As a reminder, tomorrow is the semi-annual shredding event at Town Hall from 8 am to 11:30 am and, a big fan favorite, Pearl River Day from 11 am to 6 pm, rain or shine, on Central Avenue in Pearl River.
Whatever you decide to do this weekend, Mother Nature is promising picture-perfect weather, so get outside and enjoy it!
Regards,
