I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. 16 Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good. 17 But in fact it is no longer I who do it but sin that dwells within me. 18 For I know that the good does not dwell within me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do the good lies close at hand, but not the ability. 19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. 20 Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it but sin that dwells within me. 21 So I find it to be a law that, when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand. 22 For I delight in the law of God in my inmost self, 23 but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind, making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24 Wretched person that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God[a] through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I am enslaved to the law of God, but with my flesh I am enslaved to the law of sin.

Happy first day of July. It's officially time to bust out the shorts, tank-tops, and swim trunks; it's summertime y'all!

A BIG THANK YOU from the Drama Ministry to all who helped with the Work Party on Sunday. We accomplished lots thanks to all the help we had!

As a reminder, there will only be one worship service at 10:00AM on July 5th, and the church office will be closed until 9:00AM on July 6th.

Saint Mark United Methodist Church is celebrating 150 Years of Faith, Community & Service.

Join us on Sunday, August 16, 2026, for a special Homecoming Worship Celebration followed by Lunch on the Terrace as we honor our past, celebrate our present, and look toward the future.

Throughout August, we’ll share stories, a historical timeline exhibit, video features, and opportunities to learn more about the people, places, ministries, and traditions that have shaped Saint Mark since 1872.

Want to be involved? We’re looking for volunteers, storytellers, historians, and helping hands. There will be many opportunities to serve and participate throughout the celebration.

To volunteer, share photos or memories, or learn more, contact Eric Steverson.

A gathering in Wade Hall

This picnic will, undoubtedly, be a hoot and a holler. If not for the presentation by the Drama Ministry, the food, or the friendly competition, come for what's certain to be a good time with a community that feels like family.

The picnic will be in Wade Hall this Sunday, after the one worship service at 10:00AM.

Email Mike Beecham with what you plan to bring to the party.

*Suggested items to bring:• potato salad • baked beans • coleslaw • pasta salad • desserts • watermelon (not as much as we thought we needed, but enough to share).

Theology on Tap

A drawing of a human

Around the dinner table isn't the only place we deepen relationships and refreshen our spirit. Theology on Tap is a young adults meet-up of meaningful dialogue, shared stories, and laid-back energy. It happens outside of the walls of the church because we believe church is more than just the building worship happens in; it's the people who make worship happen.

Whether you're deeply rooted in your spiritual journey or just starting to explore, you’re invited to this evening of authentic connection and accepting community.

Contact Reverend Charlotte for the address.
