Dear OLOL Families,
I have a couple of items pertaining to the start of school which I would like you to review.
First, construction of the air-conditioning is in-progress. This is going to impact our back-to-school night a little bit. What you will notice is the area around the door entrances by the playground. The various crews working onsite are using door 3 (back entrance) as the construction entrance. This entrance will not be up to our standard on Thursday night. The lower level hallway is another area that is going to look different on Thursday. Much of the work is being done in the boiler room and materials are being housed in the hallway.
We are asking that if you have a preschool student and if you would like to checkout the art room, please walk down the first floor hallway and enter the lower level using the stairwell at the end of the hallway to avoid the work area. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we transition to air-conditioning in the building.
Please remember that Thursday, your son or daughter will have their school picture taken. Uniforms are not required so please have them dressed for what you want for their 2025-2026 school picture.
With our growth we have many new teachers this year. Teachers reported to OLOL on Monday and the new staff members have a lot of training to attend. Most of the new staff had limited time in their room. When you combine that with the planned power outages we experienced last week, their classroom worktime onsite was minimal, so their rooms may not be how they would like ... yet.
The above four above paragraphs are my way of asking for grace for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. It is quite extraordinary all that was accomplished since our students left the building on June 6th. In a little over 2 months we had new windows and blinds installed, electric upgrades so we can have air-conditioning, and every hallway and classroom floor stripped and waxed and put back together, and alot of furniture movement due to the approximately $70,000 of new furniture. There were several times this summer that I thought we were never going to be close to opening for the 2025-2026 school year. We persevered and helped each other out and I am pleased to say we are ready. There are some small items that you may notice, but for the most part, we are ready for the 2025-26 school year.
We appreciate all of the support from you that have made these projects possible.
“We must understand then, that even though God doesn’t always give us what we want, he always gives us what we need for our salvation” - Saint Augustine.

Dear Lourdes Families,
We are thrilled to share exciting news with you! After several years of reflection, collaboration, and prayer, we are launching a new mission statement, vision statement, and school logo for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.
These updates honor our rich Catholic heritage while embracing the future with confidence and faith. They reflect who we are today — and who we are called to be for generations to come.
Our New Mission
Transforming the mind, body, and spirit through academic distinction, social development, and our Catholic faith tradition.
Our New Vision
Striving to become the school of choice, we will foster empathy, inclusivity, and active
participation in the community. Together, we will equip students with the knowledge and skills to excel in their chosen future. Guided by faith, our students, families, and staff will cultivate a deep sense of purpose, integrity, and compassion, empowering them to “Be prepared for every good work.”
Our New Logo
Our new logo symbolizes the strength of our Catholic identity, our commitment to academic excellence, and the bright future of our Lourdes students.
This is more than a new look — it’s a renewed commitment to forming disciples of Christ, building strong families, and preparing our children to shine in the world.
Thank you for being a vital part of our Lourdes community. Together, we are writing the next chapter in our school’s incredible story.
With gratitude and excitement – Go Cavaliers!
In Christ,
Jeff Young, Principal

Dear Courageous Cavaliers,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year. We begin by addressing you as "courageous cavaliers" because there are many wonderful changes this school year and we all know that change can be challenging. We appreciate your patience and grace as we embark on this journey together. We have been blessed to have a unified school arrival and dismissal time for our elementary and middle school students. This opportunity has resulted in a change of our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Our new school hours are 8:00am to 3:00pm. Arrival time will begin at 7:45am. Please do not drop off students before that time to ensure safety for all. Our staff members will not be outside to supervise students until that time.
Dropoff will occur on the NORTH side of school (as in prior years) and on the SOUTH side of church.
All BUS traffic will be on the SOUTH side of church.
We will be having staggered dismissal times for pickup.
- Middle School and Early Childhood will be dismissed at 2:55pm.
- Kindergarten, First and Second Grades will be dismissed at 2:58pm
- Third and Fourth Grades will be dismissed at 3:00pm.
Dismissal will take place on the SOUTH SIDE of the church in the south church parking lot. Please follow the map for instructions as to where to park and walk up to pick up your students. There is a designated "Pick Up Zone" on the far west side of the parking lot.
Please share this information with any of the wonderful family members or friends that will be picking up your children at the end of the school day. We want to make this transition as smooth as we can for everyone and as safe as we can for our cavaliers.
When picking up or dropping off your child during the school day, please continue to drop off your child and bring them to the school office for checkin/checkout. Thank You
Please contact the school office with any questions.

Library Update
Hopefully all the students participated in the Summer Reading Challenge this summer. The sheets are due on Tuesday, Sept 2, in the office. I will be picking up the remaining sheets that day to calculate the grade winner. The grade with the highest percentage of participants earns a free recess. All participants earn a dress down day and recognition at the awards assembly at the end of the year. Sheets can be turned in at any time before Sept. 2.
Our school is growing. The library will have a few extra classes this year. Volunteers are needed for am and pm classes. You would be checking out books and shelving them plus helping the younger students with their projects. If you are interested, please email Sally Brys at sbrys@gracesystem.com. I plan to be available at the Supply Drop Off night on Aug. 21 if you’d like more information on what duties you would be doing as a library volunteer. All hours are eligible for TSF hours.
