Beginner's Mind February

Holy Guacamole, 2025 has started off with some intensity, no?

I've found myself leaning hard on my practice - which for me means a variety of things... Zen, cardslinging, writing, doggies, moon-gazing, running.

My "Wobble readings" have been keeping me upright and even (at times) downright joyous these past few weeks. My new mantra has been: Shuffle, Don't Scroll.

Oh, and of course, there's hot tub. (Said reverently, without "a" or "the" - like Ken's 'Beach.') My beloved 28-year-old Caldera 350 gallon hexagonal Teton. They don't make 'em anymore and I will never retire this thing. It is perfection in 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

On February 8 - I I lead off Spiritual Wanderlust's 2025 "Modern Mystics" series. My topic is the author of Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind - Shunryu Suzuki: the deep-hearted practitioner who taught North America how to practice Zen.

Suzuki taught us how to live our lives with whole body, heart and soul. "Burn yourself up completely," he wrote.

Yes, the world is on fire; and/but how do I bring my complete energy to this present, wild and impossibly precious moment?
