WHAT:

An extended closure is underway of the southbound (SB) SR-55 Dyer Road loop off-ramp as well as the inside lane on the SB Dyer Road on-ramp. Crews are working to reconstruct the ramp.



WHEN:

The off-ramp closed on Tuesday, Oct. 13 and is expected to reopen to motorists by 9 p.m. tonight, Friday, Oct. 23.

WHAT:

Crews are preparing to demolish and reconstruct the center median of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5 to accommodate a new carpool lane. As part of this work, crews will shift northbound SR-55 traffic onto newly constructed lanes. Intermittent nighttime lane and ramp closures will be required.

PERMANENT ON-RAMP CHANGE

The northbound McFadden Avenue on-ramp will be permanently restriped as part of the traffic shift.

Once the new striping is in place, motorists using this on-ramp will only be able to access northbound I-5. Access to northbound SR-55 or southbound I-5 will no longer be available from this on-ramp. Motorists traveling to northbound SR-55 or southbound I-5 should use alternate routes.

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, beginning as

early as Monday, Oct. 26 and continuing for approximately two weeks.

WHAT:

Crews are expected to perform pavement grinding along the outside lanes on southbound (SB) SR-55 between I-405 and I-5, which will require closing up to three outside lanes.



WHEN:

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights, Wednesday, Oct. 28 through Wednesday, Nov. 4 (into Thursday morning).

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
