Borough volunteers offer help with vaccine sign-ups

The Borough is deeply grateful to the band of volunteers, led by Abby Stern Cardinale, who are working around the clock to help eligible residents schedule and receive their COVID-19 vaccinations. This group works closely with the Dept on Aging in the Highland Park Community Center to make these appointments and, when needed, create travel plans to the vaccination sites.

The volunteer team now invites residents who are eligible to receive the vaccine to sign up for their assistance.

DPW tackling potholes and minor road repairs throughout the Borough

With the arrival of spring weather and the exit of snow & hard rains, the conditions are now ideal for Highland Park's Department of Public Works to begin patching up the potholes and address other breaks in Borough roads that developed over the winter months.

Over the past few weeks DPW had devoted dozens of hours to filling potholes and repairing roads. Residents should see improvements on South 4th Ave, North 10th Ave, South 1st Ave, and streets around Highland and Lexington avenues.

DPW prioritizes road repairs where there are dangerous conditions to drivers or pedestrians.

Highland Park is not alone in finding this time of year prime time for road repair. DPW staff report long lines and waiting times at the county depot in Edison, where gravel and other supplies are dispensed for this work.

DPW invites residents to identify road repairs that need attention. To do so, please use the "Report a Concern" function on the Borough's website, at https://www.hpboro.com/i-want-to/report-a-concern. Residents can also call DPW at (732) 514-1277.
