Fall is Here!

October is definitely the best time to visit the studio here at FDKM! We are decorated for Halloween! If you've never visited and are a Halloween fan, it's a not to miss event. We've also dug out from our archive the fun FDKM board! Pop in and take a photo, it's a fun way to celebrate the season.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to the McLean Highlander Marching Band last month! Every dollar counts and it goes to help these hard working kids achieve and see through their season of hard work. If you're ever interested in seeing a performance, just ask Ann :)

Speaking of Halloween, it falls on a Saturday this year! We hope you'll join us for classes on Saturday morning before you head out to your Halloween activities later on in the day. We plan on having Halloween themed classes and encourage everyone to dress up!

One last thing, don't forget to RSVP for this month's Members Seminar. We'll be working on Anti-carjacking knife threats. Sensible shoes please.

See you on the mat!

-Nick, Ann, and The First Defense Team

Bring a friend with your 3 class trial Pass!

Purchase a 3 class trial pass, and through the month of October bring a friend/family/co-worker in with you free of charge. You wouldn't want to do a haunted house alone, so just like Krav, try it out with someone you know.

A few things you might learn during our classes:

Fundamental striking and strike defenses
Releases from common grabs & holds such as chokes and bearhugs
How to fall safely and defend from the ground
Basic boundary setting and stress management
Handling knife threats and attacks
Principles of protecting others
Using the environment to your advantage

Just purchase your 3 class trial pass at the link below. Schedule your class in October, and bring someone to train with you. Your guest must sign a waiver release form online or do so in person before participating in class.

3 Class trial passes are eligible for Adult Fundamentals classes or Youth classes. If you have any questions about our October deal, please contact Ann at ann@firstdefensekravmaga.com

Members Seminar Recap: Pistol Threats

September's Members Seminar Recap:

Pistol Threats

We hope everyone had a great time at our September's Members Seminar Installment! We worked on Pistol threats and trained with airsoft guns outside to test our reaction time. Thankfully, no one lost an eye and we didn't damage the nearby cars during training. But some scenarios definitely showed that without proper training and practice we would've lost some folks!

Next Members Seminar will be our annual fall Anti-carjacking with Chris Murphy! Remember to RSVP!
