Come and join us for a class (or two) this summer and as we go into fall and winter! By popular request, we have added our class schedule through December! That is right, our class schedule is now published through December. Just a friendly word of advice, the new classes and holiday themed classes in October, November and December fill-up fast - so register early if you are interested on those classes. There are so many great baking and decorating classes and some new classes that we are offering. You will find a few daytime classes during the summer and mid-day classes on Fridays in the fall, classes most evenings and of course weekend class times. Classes include baking and decorating classes of all types and are open to all skill levels. With the sale, maybe think of bringing a friend and introducing them to the fun of Make It Sweet classes!
We welcome kids 8 to 12 years old in our regular classes as long as they are accompanied by a participating adult and teens are welcome to take classes independently. We do list some classes as specifically BYOB and while we don't limit the age of attendees, because of more open drinking, those classes are more suitable for adults only. Age 21 and up adults are welcome to more discreetly bring adult beverages to enjoy during any class.
The class sale applies to all of our regular classes that are currently on the schedule now through December. All Make It Sweet Instructors' Classes with Jennifer, Sallia, Magda, Kelly, Rebecca, Pam, and Pavla are included in the sale! Visiting instructor classes, prior registrations, kid's classes, workshops, mini-sessions, open houses and special events are not included.

This summer we will host three Open House events each with Themed Cupcake Decorating Classes, Spin-Art Cookie Decorating and a Bake Sale. These events are fun for friends and family of all ages. For the classes we provide all of the cupcakes, icings, decorations and tools. When participants arrive, we have themed snacks and refreshments to enjoy and aprons to put on before we start the short cupcake decorating demonstration. Then everyone takes those ideas and uses their imagination to decorate their cupcake works of art. At the end, the cupcakes are boxed up for taking them home to share and savor. We are excited to again partner with the Capital Confectioners Cake Club for the Open Houses that help to support their events like That Takes the Cake. Club members provide the bake sale items – and they create some beautiful and delicious goodies!

Join us for: Cookie Decorating, Cupcake Decorating, Cake Decorating, Cake Baking, Fondant Cake Decorating, 3D Cookie Scene, Candy Making, Empanadas, Pizzas and Pretzels. There are so many great class options with experienced Make It Sweet Instructors - Christy, Kelly, Magda and Jennifer.
Class times are 10 am to 12:30 pm each day during 6 select weeks throughout the summer. The camp attendance is flexible - pick and choose dates - no need to sign-up for a complete week at a time. Discounts are applied for multiple class registrations.
The kids get dropped off starting at 9:45 am so that we are ready to begin class right at 10 am. Camp students will start every class with washing hands and putting on aprons. Then the fun begins as the instructor demonstrates the steps of the project. Camp students work in small groups each guided by a teenage camp counselors to work on their creations. In this fun environment kids learn about techniques, tools, ingredients, following recipes, sanitation, math and so much more while making and decorating their project that they get to take home and enjoy.
During class we provide a snack (popcorn / pretzel mix and fruit) and juice. Water is always available. Please let us know if there are any allergy issues. We do not work with nuts of any type in any of our kids classes.
It is always exciting when the parent/guardian comes back at 12:15 to watch the kids finishing up their projects and take pictures. The kids are always so proud to show off their accomplishments. Please let us know during check-in who will be doing the pick-up.
We are looking forward to seeing kids who have taken classes with us before (please note that class projects will be different than in previous years) and look forward to meeting new kids camp students.

We are looking for a few good people who love to bake and decorate and are interested in sharing their knowledge while helping Make It Sweet shoppers. Both full-time and part-time Retail Sales Associate positions are available. Experienced decorators to those who want to learn more about baking and decorating are welcome to apply. Maybe you know a high school student who is looking for a summer job and a part-time afternoon and weekend job during the school year who would be interested in getting great job experience. Please complete an application and email it to Jennifer at jennifer@makeitsweet.com or drop it off to us. We will then set-up a time for an interview. Make It Sweet is a fun place to work!
