October 2026

Together we raised $137,000

to prevent and reduce poverty.

Thank you for making Over the Edge 2026 a huge success. On September 11, we raised $137,00 to help prevent and reduce poverty in our community. Nicolet National Bank welcomed 75 rappelers to scale the side of their 13-story building. The event earned local media coverage and drew hundreds of spectators throughout the day. Nearly 1000 people watched the event LIVE via TH Media's livestream. You can watch a recording of that livestream here.

Over the Edge 2026 would not be possible without the generous support and contributions of our sponsors. Their partnership helps make this exciting event a reality while supporting United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States’ work to create lasting change for individuals and families throughout our community.

Your donations making an impact.

100 percent of the money raised through Over the Edge stays right here in our community and improves life for local people. Our Community Impact Fund supports a network of 37 local non-profit organizations that all work together to prevent and reduce poverty in the tri-state area.

Here is one example of how your donations make an impact. United Way provides funding for Convivium Urban Farmsted's Free Casserole Program. This allows people to take home a free, healthy casserole to feed their family. Fred, who participates in the program had this to say:

"My wife and I are in our mid 70's and we live on a fixed income. The costs of everything have gone out of control this year. At our age, we are unable to go back to work. This free casserole giveaway program really helps with our budget," said Fred.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to stand with survivors, remember those whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence, and remind every person experiencing abuse that they are not alone. Through nearly $100,000 in annual support for local domestic violence crisis programs, United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States helps provide hope, safety, and a path forward for survivors and families in our communities. United Way proudly invests in programs at these organizations that provide support for domestic violence survivors.
